"What was that about?" Nate asked as soon as Devon shut the sliding door to call Sage back. Nate and all the boys leaned in waiting for me and Hayes to explain.
"That was her ex." Hayes stated.
"No shit, what happened?" Johnson asked.
"It's not our place to tell." I tell them. "But Nate, me and Hayes need to talk to you."
"In private." Hayes and I stand up walking into the kitchen Nate following behind confused after mumbling an 'I don't know.' to the boys.
"What's up?" He asked confused leaning against the counter.
"When you," I stopped trying to think and Hayes had the same expression on his face, confusion.
"When you grabbed her to calm her down-" Hayes said cutting himself off.
"What did you say?" I asked after a few moments.
"What did you do?" Hayes added.
Nate chuckled, "I held her and told it was okay?" He questioned.
"Was that all?" I asked still confused.
"Yeah." Nate said slowly and nodded. "Why does it matter?"
"Because only one other person is able to calm her done like that." Hayes stated staring at him just like I am, confused.
Nate looked back and forth between me and my brother. "Stop staring at me, it was nothing." He stated.
"No," Hayes shook his head.
"It is not nothing." I stared shaking my head slightly.

"You good?" I asked Devon after she came back inside and we were alone in the kitchen while everyone else was outback playing basketball or at the pool.
"Yeah." She nodded setting her water on the counter and leaning against the counter. I nodded and turned around walking out, I didn't know if I should give her space from earlier or not. "Nate." She stopped me at the kitchen doorway. I turned around leaning against the door frame.
"What's up?"
She was in the process of turning back around from grabbing her water bottle, leaning off the counter. "Thanks," she said tightening the lid on her water. "For earlier."
"No problem." I told her. She nodded and gave a closed-lip smile and started to walk past me. I stopped her by gently setting my hand on her hip farthest from me, we were side by side. "I ain't gonna lie, ma, you were hot earlier."
She laughed slightly and looked up at me. "Were?" She question and walked forward completely leaving the kitchen but I grabbed her wrist pulling her back to the doorway, pushing her up against the frame.
"You always are." I told her moving the hair to behind her ear. She laughed looking down. I pulled her chin up, my eyes scanning her entire face.
"What?" She asked.
"I lied, your not always hot, your beautiful when you laugh and smile." I said with a cheeky smile down at her.
She laughed and walked past me.
----Devon Devereaux
I woke up in Nate's arms, Nate's warm and comfortable arms. I could get use to this.
We didn't do anything last night other than watch We Are The Millers and some American Dad. But the last thing I remember from last night is before I fell asleep Nate tighten his arms around me and mumbled a happy birthday before kissing my temple.
Before I could enjoy being wrapped in his arms any longer his phone rang causing him to stir in his sleep and tighten his hold on me while groaning. "Nate, it's yours." I inform him quietly.
"Leave it." He mumbled keeping his hold around me tight. He snuggled into me more. His phone kept ringing and it was bothering me.
"Anwser it, it maybe important." I say but he shakes his head no. I roll my eyes and roll over him, sitting in his stomach straddling him.
I leaned forward grabbing his phone looking at the caller id while he mumbled out a "I like this position."
"It's Derek." I tell him.
"Amwser it." He tells me putting one arm over his eyed and his other hand in my hip rubbing circles.
"Hey." I amwser his phone. "It's Devon."
"Hey, where's Skate?" Derek asked.
"Next to me." I inform him.
Before Derek could speak again Nate spoke loudly enough for Derek to hear him. "More like under you."
"Oh shit, did I cockblock?" Derek asked.
"No, what's up?" I asked changing the subject.
"Ask him if he's coming to the studio or not." Derek said. I guess Nate could hear because he put his hand that was covering his eyes out flat. I set the phone in his hand and he brought it to his ear.
"Yeah, I'll be there soon man." Nate tells him as I started to move to get off him but his hand on my hip tigthens slightly telling me to stay. I roll my eyes playfully and climb off anyways. "I know I'm late, I over slept."
I couldn't hear Derek anymore because I was across the room by now now and pulling a shirt over my sports bra that I slept in.
"No, dumbass." Nate laughed.
I dug around in my suitcase ignoring his conversation and pulled out a pair of skinny jeans.
I pulled my spandex off and bent over putting my feet through the holes and pulled the jeans up my legs. As I was buttoning and zipping them up Nate came up behind and wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder.
"You know, you could just go pantless and shirtless." He said.
"You would like that, huh?" I teased.
"Mhm." He hummed into my neck as he swayed us slightly. I could feel him smile against my neck, causing me to smile.
"Too bad." I told him. "You have somewhere to be." I turned around to face him.
He frowned and furrowed his eyebrows. "I thought you were coming with me." He said.
"Your already late, I wouldn't want to distract you." I told him.
"Come." He said. "Then after the studio we can get take out and go back to my place and watch more American Dad and just chill." He smiled.
I contemplated it, and agreed. "Fine, as long as we get egg rolls."
He hummed and looked away like he was thinking, he met my eyes again a big smile across his entire face. "Sounds like a date."
Little did I know today was gonna make me realize alot about Nate.
