"There we go! Now everyone knows everyone! Now, each of you got a letter to tell you why you have been chosen to come to our awards ceremony. I ask of you not to tell anyone why you are here, it will be a surprise for everyone on the 21st of October," Mr. Simpson told us, "Edward and Sophia work here. I own this hotel and we will be the only ones here for this week, other than your families, who are coming later. Each of you are being given a room, that Sophia will show you. You'll be given a schedule everyday and you will follow it, if you wish to stay here. Dinner will be at 7:00 PM today, be on time. This is the only meal that is not go in and out as you please. For this meal, look a little more presentable, every night."
All I could think about was that I would have to go buy a nicer shirt, I wasn't told to bring nice clothes. I brought everyday clothes.
"Your rooms are on the second floor, in the hotel rooms. The third floor is for my family and I, do not go up there. Under no circumstances. This is the main floor, and any games or activities we have we will meet in this room before going foreword with plans. Any questions?" he asked. No one said a word. "I'm glad, Sophia will take you all to your rooms now." We all grabbed our bags that we all left in the hallway and followed an older little lady. She had gray hair and a long dress on.
"I look foreword all year to have all these young faces around," she said. We all went up the stairs. She had a paper in her hands, probably with our names and rooms.
"Room B1, Katherine Vea," Sophia said. Katherine took the card and went into her own room. Katherine was the fashion one, I reminded myself.
"Thank you so much!" Katherine said happily.
"Room B2, Nani Pacak," Sophia announced. She gave Nani her card and Nani carried on to her room. Nani was the ocean hater, I told myself.
"Thanks," Nani told Sophia.
"Room B3, Merida Abbot," Sophia called. Merida thanked her and carried on to her room with her stuff. Merida was on my plane, I had gotten to know her decently well.
"Room B4, Alec O'Kane," Sophia said. Alec got his key, thanked Sophia and went into his room with his one bag. Alec was the ocean lover. I was on a mission to remember everyone's name and something about them.
"Room B5, Levi Qui," Sophia said, "your room will also be connected to Joy's," she added. She carried on, listing everyone name. Levi and Joy's rooms were connected. The three boys from Alabama, Hunter, Ray and Caine, all their rooms were connected.
"B13, Melody Reed," Sophia read off the paper. "Kyle Forest, that means you'll be having room B14." She gave us each the card to our room. She left and Melody and I each went into our separate rooms. I opened the door that connected Melody and I's room, so it would always be open. It felt way too lonely to have a silent room to yourself. Melody was unpacking her things, as I was doing with my stuff.
The room had everything you could need. There was a small walk in area, like a small hallway. My room had a TV, a queen bed, a small table with two chairs, a small night stand, there was two cabinets to store things in and a dresser for clothing. I even had my own bathroom. The bathroom had the normal toilet, it had a tub, two sinks and two cabinets full of white towels.
Melody let out a loud gasp and started squealing like no tomorrow. From what I've learned from having a best friend that was a girl was that the squealing was a good thing. It was something majorly amazing they saw, like a clothing sale or a cute animal. Usually something small. She started doing the small jumping up and down figure, it must be a really good thing.
"What's up?" I asked her as I walked into her room. She pointed to her open dresser. In the dresser there must have been thirty different colored dressed, all different colored and styled.
"Look at all those dresses, there aren't that many dresses in my whole house," Melody said in amazement. She took out a red dress, held it up to her body, and started spinning around with it. I laughed as she smiled wider than she had for a really long time, since she had almost made the worst mistake of her life. The smile dropped from my face, Melody quickly noticed. She stopped smiling and stared at me. "Whats wrong?" she asked.
"Nothing," I said honestly, a smile growing back on my face, "I'm just thinking."
"Don't worry, everything is hard the first time," she teased.
"Oh shut up, would you?" I laughed.
"No, but really, what's wrong," she asked again.
"It's just that we haven't been this carefree and problem free in a long time, I'm happy we are now," I explained to her.
"I'm happy too," she said. We just looked at each other for a few seconds, not saying anything. "Hey, did you look in your closet?" she asked, breaking the silence.
"No, I haven't even started to put away my stuff," I told her. She left her dress on her bed and dragged me into my own room. She opened my dresser and sure enough there was fancier clothing in their than I could even think of owning.
"You got collared shirts, dress pants, ooo, you even got a suit in here, Kyle," she said, "look, you even have different colored dress shoes," she pointed downwards.
"Guess this is what we have to dress up in for dinner everyday," I said.
"I can't wait for dinner," Melody said happily.
"I'm going to hate dinner," I stated.

Author's Note
I am so excited for these next few chapters. I had no idea what was going to happen I. New York (I was going to have them get their prize, maybe visit the city a bit and it all be over in two chapters), BUT then I created the character Erik Simpson. Everything changed and each day that they're here is going to be packed, full of action and excitement. I am so excited for these New York days.
I was bored ok? So I made the room that Kyle is staying in, as in like the actually floor plan. I'm working on their house too to be honest with all of you. Maybe this is why this book is taking forever to finish.
Ok, my little fangirl moment is over now. Thank you SO MUCH FOR READING IT MEANS THE WORLD TO ME!!!!!!!
