From the kitchen, Ray, Hunter, Cain and I went up to the lobby. Almost everyone was already there. I glanced around, looking for Melody. She was talking to Joy, or more like Joy was just ranting to Melody about who knows what. Melody was wearing a pair of dark ripped jeans, a pink crop top, though she had a white tank top underneath it. She had a small backpack on her back. Her curly hair was pulled back into a ponytail, making it look like a poof ball. Melody caught my eyes, said something quickly to Joy and then hurried over.

"Have I ever told you how much of an amazing friend you are?" Melody asked me.

"Nope," I smiled. She probably has at some point. She took no notice of what I said.

"She just keeps talking and talking and talking and talking," Melody said, "I thought I was a chatterbox, I am NOTHING compared to her."

"Alright, we finally have everyone here, let's get going," Mr. Simpson told us.

"Did you grab my sweatshirt?" I asked her.

"Yup," she said. I noticed that it was wrapped around her waist. She untied it and handed it over to me.

"We're about a mile away from the boat port," Mr. Simpson told us.

"A mile!" a girl exclaimed. Behind me, the girl with dark hair and the love for pearls stood with her mouth hung open. It took me a second, but I remembered that her name was Rosa.

"Traffic is too heavy here to drive," Katherine explained. Katherine lives in New York, I reminded myself.

"Exactly," Mr. Simpson said.

"I'm in heels though!" Rosa shouted.

"If you hurry, we'll wait for you while you grab some walking shoes," Mr. Simpson said.

"I only brought heels!" Rosa exclaimed.

"If you have money with you, you can buy a pair of shoes," Mr. Simpson stated. Rosa huffed, but didn't say anything else. "Alright, let's go."

We all walked out in our own groups, Katherine was with Rosa in the front. Hunter was talking to Alec, who had been alone on most of the trip over here. Cain and Ray were talking in the back, trailing last. In the middle, Joy was talking to Merida and Levi. The three of them had stayed tight in their own group. Pandora was talking softly with Nani and Makenna.

On the streets of New York, it was noisy. Really loud everywhere, and so much garbage. Oh how much garbage there was. Bags were hanging from buildings. It was disgusting.

"It's so...dirty," Melody said, both of us looking around.

"When people describe New York, they don't tell you this," I stated.

"Not at all," Melody said. Melody pulled her earbuds, each of us with one, we listened to music. We walked in silence. "You know, I wish I could dance," Melody said after awhile.

"Why?" I asked her.

"You should see the music video for this song, they dance the music out," Melody stated.

"What song?" I asked.

"Powder, by Luca Hänni," Melody said.

"We'll watch it when we get back," I told her as I slipped my sweatshirt over my head, it was getting annoying to carry. "I forgot to grab money," I stated as plain as day, running my hands through my hair.

"I grabbed your wallet," Melody told me.

"What?"

"I said, I grabbed your-"

"I heard you, just how did you know where it was?" I asked her. She raised her eyebrows at me.

"Please, you had it in the first pocket of your backpack, I strongly recommend you find a new place to hid it," she said, sounding all smart like.

"Melody?"

"Huh?"

"Shut up."

She rolled her eyes, letting out a laugh, "just cause I'm right doesn't mean we end the conversation."

I bit my lip from letting out a laugh, letting her think she won the argument.

Author's Note

So.....I am in love with that song. I think the lyrics are strong and all. I had to wrap it in here sorry.

Cain is up there. He's a little quiet guy, until you get to know him.
