-October 4th-
"You're turn," I said as I put down a red three uno card. She put a yellow three down. "Ughhhhh," I groaned. I had no yellows and I already had over twenty cards while Melody was on her last three. My phone vibrated with more messages.
Are you guys coming to the party today? Ann said you guys could come, even though you guys don't work here right now. ~Thomas
What party? ~Kyle
The shelter party. ~Thomas
? ~Kyle
Ughhh, Minho was supposed to tell you and Melody. There's a party today at the shelter with everyone that works there. We're just doing a bunch of silly challenges and like you know. Having fun. Ann said you guys could come, since y'all are like part of the shelter ether way. ~Thomas
I'll ask. ~Kyle
"What's up?" Melody asked. She had switched the song to Into The Darkness, by Gio Navas. A song that was inspired by House of Hades, a book we both loved and dreaded.
"We're invited to a party that Minho was supposed to tell us about at the shelter. You wanna go?" I asked her.
"Yeah, I wanna get out of this house," Melody said. We were trying to be normal for her, we all really were trying. Even her therapist said that would be best, but I couldn't shake the thought of how she was out of my head. I woke up from nightmares each night, but I didn't even want to mention that to Melody.
Melody's Mom was staying with us today since both Alice and Max had collage classes today. Everyone was over, all playing outside.
"I'm sure that Minho wouldn't mind driving us," I told her.
"Doesn't he only have a permit?" Melody asked.
"Do you want to walk?" I asked her.
"Fair enough," she stated. Minho was in Macy's room, fooling around with her.
"Don't you have a party to go to?" I asked Minho.
"That's today?" Minho asked, "oh I was supposed to tell you that-"
"Thomas told us already. They're already there," I told him.
"Darn, I forgot that was today," Minho said. "I'll be home later and we can play then," Minho told Macy. She shook her head quickly and gave Minho a small peck.
When we got to the shelter, people were already gathered in the room. I glanced around for Poppy, I didn't want her anywhere near Melody.
"She's not here," Minho whispered to me.
"Who?" I asked, pretending that I had no idea who he was talking about.
"Poppy, she's not welcome back. She got in trouble for hurting another girl too, the police got involved and everything," Minho told me. I almost didn't want to know. Minho's eyes wandered to a face I didn't know. His eyes didn't leave her. She had long brown hair that was thrown all over the place. She was in light jean shorts and converse. She had the shelter T-shirt on, meaning she did work here. All of us were in our T-shirt's.
"Who's the girl?" I asked Minho.
"What girl?" Minho asked, even though his eyes didn't leave the girl.
"The one who you like," I told him. His cheeks heated up a little bit, confirming my statement. I couldn't help but think that after all the teasing I got, this was just perfect.
"Not a word," Minho warned me.
"What's her name?" I asked.
"Navas. Navas Deland," Minho told me.
"Oh my goodness this is going to be fun," I said.
"Why?" Minho asked.
"Because I can finally tease you, after all that teasing I got for Melody," I laughed.
"Yeah, but you guys are like gunna date, get married and live happily ever after," Minho told me.
"We're fourteen," I stated.
"Lucky you, you met the girl you're gunna marry and you don't have to worry anymore," Minho told me. I shook my head, not even bothering to argue with him. Navas started walking towards us. She smiled at Minho and gave a small wave.
"Hey Minho," she said with a large smile on her face.
"Hey Navas, this is my brother, Kyle," Minho introduced me.
"So, what do you see me as?" I asked him.
"A brother," Minho replied, "just without the 'r' added in."
"That's mean," I said as I hit his arm after I got the joke.
"He talks about you almost as much as Thomas talks about you and Melody," Navas laughed.
"Oh great, I guess we're already well known," I groaned. Melody walked over with a plate full of food.
"They don't have any butter, I asked," Melody told me.
"Navas this is Melody, Kyle's girlfriend," Minho laughed.
"We're not dating!" Both of us insisted. Both Minho and Navas started laughing. I took one of Melody's chocolate covered strawberries.
"Awww, you guys are cute," Navas said.
"You two are cute too, how long have you guys been dating?" Melody asked with a smirk on her face. There was the Melody I knew well. Both Minho and Navas' faces lit up red.
"Aren't you guys so goals?" I said, using lines that Minho and Thomas had put over my head since the beginning of time.
"Aren't they?" Melody asked me. Navas' face was beyond red at this point. Neither Minho or Navas looked at each other. "I can't wait until Thomas gets a crush, so we can tease him too," Melody told me.
"Have you met Daisy?" Navas laughed.
"Aren't we just the luckiest people in the world, Kyle?" Melody laughed.
"Well, you two enjoy each other's company. Keep everything PG though!" I said, louder than needed as Melody and I walked away.
"Awwww Minho likes Navas and Navas likes Minho, they'd actually be a cute couple," Melody said. I didn't get to say another word before Ann started speaking.
"Ok guys, we work here all the time, now let's play a bunch of games, eat, and do a bunch of stupid challenges!" Ann yelled. Even though there weren't too many of us, I knew it was going to be a crazy day.

Author's Note
Awwww Minho liking Navas. I actually named her off of the creator of Into The Darkness, Gio Navas. I liked the last name and thought it would be cute as a first name. So there's the story behind that name.
The song Melody and Kyle were listening to in the beginning is actually a song up on YouTube. It's based off of House of Hades. The users name is Gio Navas. It's currently my favorite song. It's been for less than a week, but I'm honestly in love with it.
