In this crazy jungle that they call high school
Where everyone is simply a piece of meat
She gazes at the animals,
And makes some ghastly connections
Like a thick web trapping her thoughts
A poor innocent fly, never seeing the light
After its choice: a perfect mistake
Jocks date the pretty cheerleaders
Perfect just like the flips they do
Both enjoying fake laughs that mean absolutely nothing
Just proving that love can be built on stereotypes
The nerds date other nerds
Picking apart each others' brains
And their glasses completing each other
And yet who is there for someone
Who is an artist
A poet of the hand
Chasing her dreams with a pencil
But what if she dreams of you
Loving fiercely in her hopes
But you are not the match
The world would have her pushed to
In hope she finds her lover
She s h e d s her soul p i e c e by p i e c e
As they say "spread your beautiful art
a r o u n d me "
But as she does, they refuse her vibrant colors
And tell her, she must stick between the lines
So she rotted in the haunted halls
Hoping her lover saw the murals
She had painted for him in those streets
But he only saw the blonde against the locker
So with watercolor tears she cried
And never painted again
