She was the girl that felt too much
But pretending like she didn't feel anything
Stumbling through her blank life
Like she was blind
When actually she saw everything
Looking at herself and not seeing
The hip bones jutting out or the
Way her cheekbones ached to be seen
They reminded her that she didn't deserve a plate to each
Much left a cracker in her hand
She pretended like the aching in her stomach was just the butterflies dying away floating down
To the acid in her stomach
Burning away just like her will to live
She didn't realize how much her body needed to feel her love
Poured upon it
But it was felt was the shallowness of a day wasted
Not seeing the strength that leaps from her
And stand strong another day
If she saw the stranger looking back at her
That would the hero of her coming wake
