She sat with her legs up against the

W A L L

Her face blinded by the brightness of her phone screen

Looking for a song to H I T the pain she was feeling

Earphones, her safe haven

Using it as a light to fight the darkness of the world

Maybe she was just searching for it to say

The words her ears longed to hear

Saying that he still thought about her

Maybe even loved her

But silently she knew

It wasn't so

And he had forgotten all about

Her blue eyes

Even though she never could have

Forgotten about his green ones

through

When she had the chance

She knew she would have gotten lost

In the shrubs of his mind

Truthfully she wouldn't have a given a second thought

To losing her mind in his heart

Maybe that was why she was still heartbroken

She didn't want to leave his memory at the door

And calmly W A L K O U T

She instead banged on the hinges

Begging for entry

To a place she truthfully

Didn't belong
