Joe's POV
I was woken rather abruptly by a cat jumping on top of me and preceding to meow obnoxiously in my ear. I opened my eyes in shock and was faced with a fat blue cat. Once it was certain that I was awake it jumped off me and ran out of the room. I yawned and stretched. Elizabeth was still fast asleep against my chest snoring softly, her hands curled into my shirt. She was so peaceful. I carefully gathered her into my arms and stood up, an arm under her knees, the other holding her against my chest, she stirred slightly and I worried I had woken her again but she just wrapped her arms around my neck, turned her face into me and grumbled.
"I'm just taking you up to bed alright?" I reassured her, she nodded into my chest and slipped easily back into sleep. I smiled down at her and carried her out of the room. Alec and Izzy stood in the corridor.
"Is she okay?" Izzy asked staring at the sleeping Liza.
"Yeah, she fell asleep waiting for you to come back but we were attacked by a ravener on the way home. I'm taking her up to bed then I'm going call it a night." I continued to her room kicking the door open and placed her down on the bed. She turned over into the pillows.
"Night love." I whispered pulling the door shut behind me.

Elizabeth's POV
I sat up in my bed, rubbing my eyes as I woke up. My head was throbbing painfully .There was a lot of noise going on outside my door. I groaned, climbed out of my bed and opened the door looking for the source of the commotion. Jace was standing with Clary and another boy who was a mundane I'd only just realised was there.
"What is going on out here?"
___________
Clary's POV
Jace's younger sister stood hands on hips staring at us angrily. It was strange how different but similar they were. Same blond hair even if hers was slightly darker but their eyes were so shockingly different, gold and blue, they couldn't be more different. Jace stared at her as if he'd only just realised she was there. He walked over to her and pulled her into the room she had appeared from slamming the door behind them. I turned back towards my room
"Simon?"

Elizabeth's POV
He was pacing my room. I rolled my eyes as he turned on his heel again.
"Are you done yet? I'd like to go to bed and you're making me dizzy." I sighed his pacing making me uncomfortable.
"What are you doing here?" He suddenly turned on me.
"What?" I asked shocked.
"Why did you come to New York?" He stalked towards the bed sitting down next to me.
"Because I realised that I was making stupid decisions that were risking my life."
"So that made you want to move here? Because that is the most logical thing to do." He rolled his eyes. I held back laughter because if I'd been him, I would have said the same thing.
"No. It was a spur of the moment thing. I was upset and angry. I thought I was going to lose Joe, I couldn't bare the idea of having to say goodbye to him, I went on a hunt without him, to clear my head and when I came back we had an argument, he told me that I had a death wish because I thought you didn't care." I shrugged as I finished explaining briefly what had happened.
"Oh Lizzie, if course I care." His eyes soften. "I thought you didn't need me because you had him."
"I need Joe, I don't know what I'd without him but I need you too, you're my big brother. My only family left. " I pointed out.
"Your mother is probably still out there." Jace reminded me which caused me to pull a disgusted face.
"Like she's worth even looking for." I scoffed. "Jace, you are the only person I have except Joe."
"I know. I'm sorry I was a terrible brother." He said sadly.
"Do you think he loved me less than you?" I asked suddenly shocking myself.
"Who?"
"Dad. " I fiddled awkwardly with a pillow.
"By the Angel no, why would you say that?" He asked appalled.
"Because he left me with the Clave and sent you to the Lightwoods."
"I don't know why he left you with the Clave but I do know that he loved you so much Lizzie, you were his little daughter, his most perfect creation, that's what he called you. You were his world." He smiled sadly. "He'd be proud of you if he were still here, his baby girl the best shadowhunter her age."
"Some days I can picture that night like it was yesterday. It plays like a movie inside my head over and over again." I said simply.
"I don't suppose we'll ever be able to stop replaying it in our heads. I mean we watched our Father being murdered in front of our eyes for Angel's sake."
"What's the matter Jace? You're being strange." I looked at him again taking in his strange body language.
"I kissed her." He said simply
"Who?"
"Clary."
"Oh, what's the matter then? Isn't kissing a good thing?"
"I don't know." He got up and started pacing again.
"Since you're up, throw me my stele." He threw me it and I caught it and drew another iratze on my chest, the throbbing ceasing immediately.
"What did you need an iratze for?" He asked watching as I drew it.
"I hit my head off the sidewalk when we were attacked by a ravener last night." I shrugged.
"You were what?"
"Attacked by a demon. Are you deaf?"
"Elizabeth! Why didn't you tell me?"
"I don't know Jonathan! Because I was asleep!" I shouted. "I'm fine, Joe's fine, nobody got hurt except from the demon cos we killed it."
"Elizabeth you don't get ravener demons just wondering round New York. Someone sent that demon. Someone wanted to kill you or Joe."
