"You're daughter has awoken sir."
"She will remember what I said correct?"
"Yes sir. "
"Remind me where she is exactly."
"The New York institute sir."
"Right, with the boy and her brother correct?"
"Yes sir. Is this not what you wanted?"
"Originally yes, but now I see how much they both care for her, I know it will be impossible to take her without them knowing."
"So what is your plan sir?"
"We need to get her to be on her own."
"With the help from our people in the Clave we can get the boy and your daughter split up but your son?"
"Is a very loyal and family driven boy, now he has his sister back he isn't going to let her go very easily."
"What would you have us do, sir?"
"We have to get her to come to us voluntarily."
"How do you suggest that sir?"
"By starting with removing the boy."

Joe's POV
"She's awake!" I called to everyone. They were sitting a sober silence in the library.
"Ah Mr Linscott, I am glad to hear that Miss Wayland is well again." Mr Fellowbe, our ever present child officer said as I walked into the room. He was in charge of Elizabeth and I's welfare and our placement within institutes and I had to admit that over the years I had grown to hate the grouchy old man.
"Mr Fellowbe, what an unexpected surprise."
"Hardly unexpected Mr Linscott, you must have known that the Edinburgh institute would have contacted me the moment they realised you had run away." He smiled smugly.
"Well yes but I did not expect you so soon." I replied taken a back.
"I am responsible for your welfare, so here I am to check on your welfare. And my my is it a good thing I did." He shook his head slowly. "Barely here a day and you've already attended a downworlder rave, where Elizabeth was almost raped by a vampire, been attacked by a demon and had to send for the silent brothers because of an injury." My mouth dropped open as he spoke, how in Hell did he know all that? "Do close your mouth boy, you'll catch flies. Now sit, we have a lot to discuss." I did as he said and took a seat.
"We'll leave you to it." Alec said ushering the others out the room and shutting the door.
"This is beyond the most stupid thing the pair of you have done!"
"Excuse me?!" I recoiled, my anger starting to build. He was such an unlikable, stuck up, patronising man!
"Everything was so working well in Edinburgh, Margaret was going to let you stay on." He said disappointment filling his tone.
"What about Liza? Was she going to let her stay on?" I asked bitterly.
"You know the answer to that one. We had a great placement lined up for her. This could have been your chance of a institute."
"She was right! You were planning on splitting us up!" I shouted angrily.
"Of course we were, Edinburgh was your twentieth institute Joseph! And each and every time you have to move is because of the pair of you being together;  you fit and she doesn't, she fits and you don't, you do something stupid to save her, she does something stupid for you, she runs off, you run after her. I have decided that it is best and easier if you try to find an institute separately. I think it will force the two of you to make other friends because you don't have each other. It's time Joseph, we've tried for years, it's just not working."
"No, I won't have it! I won't let you take her away from me!"
"I'm not taking you away from her. You are sixteen years old, you've been doing this for six years. Most people find an institute within the year but you two are so intertwined with each other that you can't see anyone else. Giving you space allows you to grow your personality separately. It will make fitting in with a institute easier."
"I don't care if it makes things easier! She is the only thing that keeps me sane. She is the only thing I have left!" I begged him. "I don't think I can function without her."
"Well you'll just have to. Won't you?"
"Where are you sending me any way?" I asked feeling a little defeated.
"Nowhere for the moment, not until we smooth things over with Edinburgh. Maryse has very generously allowed you stay here in the meantime and will be discussing with me a place for Elizabeth here should nothing more desirable come up, so that she may remain with her brother."
"How long do I have?"
"A month or two maybe. Now if Miss Wayland is awake, I must speak to her."
"Follow me then."
---------
Elizabeth's POV
"Liza, Mr Fellowbe is here to see you."  Joe stood at the door.
I groaned. "Tell him to do one won't you?"
"I will not as you so eloquently put it 'do one' Miss Wayland." Mr Fellowbe pushed past Joe and entered the room.
"Mr Fellowbe, a pleasure as always." I forced a smile onto my face.
"Clearly." He said coming to sit down in the chair next to my bed. "We need to talk about what is to happen next."
"What do you mean?"
"He wants to split us up." Joe shouted from the door.
"Yes alright Joseph. You can go now." He dismissed him.
"I'll come talk to you later alright Liz?" I nodded.
-------
Joe's POV
About half an hour later I went to check on Liza. She was sobbing sitting in the bed.
"Hey what's the matter?"
"I'm sorry Joe." She said between sobs.
"What for love?" I came to sit on the bed next to her.
"For being the reason that you're being sent away."
"Oh, Elizabeth, it's not your fault."
"Of course it is, if I hadn't run away then we wouldn't be spilt up." She managed taking deep breaths to calm down.
"This was going to happen soon any way, he told me so. This way we just get to stay together for a little longer."
"How much longer?" She asked sniffing heavily.
"Two months." I said sadly.
"Then let's make this the best two months of our lives!"
