Chapter 30

Calum's POV

I called Ashton shortly after Misty left to go with Seth somewhere. He agreed to get lunch with me. After meeting Ash at the diner we got seated near the front of the restaurant.

"What are you going to order Cal?"

Ashton asked me holding a menu over his face.

"Probably a salad."

I closed my menu and put it down. Ashton looked over his menu and gave me a funny look.

"People don't order salads in a diner."

"Yeah I do."

A waitress came over to our table to take our orders.

"Hi my name is Mandy and I'll be your waitress for today. Would you like any drinks to start you off today?"

Of course she would be here. I decided to go with it to see if she would remember me or not.

"Ill just get a glass of water, thanks."

"Calum?"

I looked up at Mandy. She was obviously surprised.

"Calum Hood is that you?"

I swallowed hard and nodded.

"Hey."

I gave her a little awkward wave. I wanted her to go away and just take our orders. Today wasn't exactly the best day of my life and I didn't want to talk to her right now.

"It's been forever."

She closed her notepad that she was suppose to take our orders on.

"Mandy can we talk later? Calum and I are absolutely starving and Calum isn't in the mood for small talk at this moment."

Ashton gave her a dimpled smile as she took out her notepad again. She nodded quickly and reopened her notepad. To take our orders.

"I'll get chicken tenders and Calum here would like to have a cheeseburger."

"Ash-"

"Thank you"

He shoved the menus in Mandy's arms and basically shoo'ed her away.

"So what's up?"

Ashton looked back at me and clasped his hands together. I shrugged and leaned back on my chair.

"It's Misty isn't it?"

I nodded looking away from him.

"What did you do this time?"

I cocked an eyebrow at him. Ashton always knew it was me. Well I mean it was always me.

"Does it have something to do with your busted lip and jaw?"

I ran a finger over my lip feeling the sting as I moved my finger down to my jaw.

"Yeah."

"Well what happened?"

"Let's just say that I saw Mandy's brother today and he just gave me bullshit. Misty just happened to be there and now she thinks I have a secret hiding from her."

I ran my fingers through my hair out of habit. I'm not sure why.

"So is she mad or something?"

I shrugged and cleared the table as Mandy came back with our food in hand.

"Thanks."

"If you need anything else just call me."

I took the bottle of ketchup and poured some onto my burger.
