Chapter 38

Calum's POV

I felt a hand shaking me, waking me up from my best friend, sleep. I groaned because I felt someone pull my comforter off of my naked body. Well, I was wearing briefs because it was hot.

"Get up, mate. It's time to go."

I groaned and finally opened my eyes so see Ashton throwing my blankets off my bed. I sat up quickly and look over at the digital clock I had on my night stand. 5:34 AM. I slid my legs over to the side of my bed and stood up to go brush up. I rubbed my eyes once again and yawned in front of the mirror.

After washing out my mouth with water, I ran a hand through my hair hoping to flatten out the right side of my head that was hopelessly sticking up. Nope. I groaned in frustration walking back into my room to look for a beanie, giving up on my hair.

I decided on a plain white shirt, black jeans and my favorite grey beanie. As I pulled on my clothes I grabbed my phone to text Misty.

Misty.

Wait what was going on today?

Shit.shit.shit.shit.

I was leaving today. I can't text Misty we're broken up. Then a wave of last night's memories flooded through my head. No.

I felt an ache in my heart and I felt almost depressed. It was like a rewind of high school but even worst because we've gotten closer than ever before. I gave a huge sigh and walked back into my bathroom packing all of my essentials. Toothbrushes, my shaving cream, razor, and anything else that I probably needed.

I went back into my room and threw it all into my luggage. Then I took another look around my room to see what I else I was leaving behind. There was a framed picture of Misty and I together on my nightstand next to the digital clock. There was my signature on it because it was the same picture that I signed when she came to my meet and greet.

I smiled and picked it up slipping it into my carry-on, which was my backpack. A voice snapped me back into reality.

"Cal? It's time to go! We'll meet you in the car outside."

It was Michael.

"OK. I'll be out in a minute."

I yelled through closed doors. I took a final glance around my room finally picking up my luggage and pulling my backpack over my shoulders.

I saw Luke grabbing the last banana off of the fruit rack we had and headed out of the kitchen to walk with me.

"We're going back to the hospital to say goodbye to Misty by the way."

I nodded and walked out the door walking past Ashton so that he could lock the door.

We split up into our usual groups and threw all of our luggage into the black SUV's that were taking us to the airport. I closed the trunk door and slid myself into the backseat with Luke, who was plugging in his earphones into his phone.

I did the same but used my beats instead. We arrived at the hospital almost 20 minutes later and we all got out of our cars. Luckily there were only 2 fans who recognized us so we took their pictures and autographed their phones.

As I walked through the sliding front doors of the hospital, memories about our talk last night came in my head.

"So this is it?"

I remember asking her as I was about to leave.

"I guess."

Her voice was broken. It was full of sadness and hurt. It hurt me so much knowing this was the end of the road for us.
