Misty's POV
My eyes were extremely heavy making it hard for me to open them. My body felt sore. The last thing I remembered was Calum.
Only Calum.
As my senses started to work again, I could hear murmuring around me. I tried turning my head towards the sound to hear it better but it didn't work. I had a massive head ache.
The noises stopped as I moved slightly using up all of my small amount of energy.
Then I heard it. I heard what I've been wanting to hear all along. I heard Calum's voice.
"Misty, hey, we're all here. Please wake up. I'm begging you. Please."
He's here with me. I felt my right hand being squeezed by something warm and big. I finally gathered up all the energy I had left in my body to open my eyes. I squinted barely making out where I was. As my eyes adjusted to the light, I also heard a familiar voice in the distance.
"She's awake!"
The voice said. I think it was Mikey. I was still confused.
I opened my mouth to speak but only dry coughs came.
"Get her water!"
Mikey.
I felt someone wrap my fingers around a cold bottle of water. I pushed myself up from the hospital bed and rubbed my eyes.
"Thanks"
I managed to croak out as I drank the cool water.
"Hey."
I turned to my right and smiled.
"Hi."
Calum grabbed my hand and started rubbing circles over my thumb.
"I'm so sorry."
He hung his head down after speaking so I carefully reached my free hand out to lift up his chin.
"It's ok. You're ok. I'm ok."
He gave me a sad smile and leaned in for a kiss. I locked my lips with his until we were interrupted by someone clearing their throat.
"We hope you're feeling better, M!"
Ashton said smiling big.
"Thank you."
"We got you these."
Luke stood up and went over to a small wooden table once empty with only a get well card from the hospital, now filled with gifts and roses and candy.
I laughed and smiled. I was glad to have them as friends. They make everything 300x better.
"Jess wanted me to give you this."
Ashton handed me a card. Inside was a gift card to the diner all of us would go too.
On the card was Jess's familiar cursive.
"Get well M! After you get better we'll go here! love you!"
There was an arrow pointing to the gift card slot. I smiled and thanked Ash.
I tried pushing myself up but in my attempt I fell back onto the cheap hospital mattress.
"Woah there, you're not going anywhere."
Calum's familiar voice said as he held my arm steady.
"What do you mean? I'm fine."
I tried getting up again but his hand stopped me again.
"Babe you need to stay until you're stronger because you're weak as fuck right now."
I rolled my eyes at him and continued to argue.
"But you're leaving in less than 2 days. I wanna spend every moment with you."
Realization hit Calum hard. His eyes dropped to the ground and his hands slid around the back of his neck. He gave a hard sigh and took the chair next to the bed.
"I know."
He said almost whispering. He turned to the boys and Ashton was the first to know that we needed alone time.
"Let's go find some real food boys."
After the door closed behind Michael, Calum took my hand again intertwining our fingers together. His eyes locked onto mine in sadness. Before he could say anything my mouth spoke my mind.
"Please don't tell me you're breaking up with me."
I pulled my hands away from his.
"Wait what?"
His eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"No I'm no- why would you say that?"
He quickly said.
"Remember like a couple years ago, when we were still in high school and you were about to leave for you're first tour and you left me behind and then you told me that we would stay in contact but then after a couple months we skyped and you told me you couldn't do this anymore."
I inhaled sharply blinking away fast tears. I have no Idea where that all came from but I didn't care. It was probably a side effect the IV stuck in my arm was doing to me.
We were engulfed by silence until he breathed deeply making the air around us uncomfortable.
"Misty."
He said breaking the silence. I knew it. He was going to break up with me. I know this is a cliché moment but I didn't care.
"I know what I did was wrong but you have to give me another chance."
I couldn't look at him anymore. I closed my eyes and turned away from him.
"Just do it or else I will."
I said sharply.
"It'll give me more time to recover."
Silence.
There it was again.
"I can't."
"Why?"
I said a little too quickly.
"Because I love you and I know this will work."
He motioned his hands between us.
"That's what you said."
I whispered softly my voice breaking.
"I'm sorry."
His answer was blank. It was emotionless. It hurt.
"Can we try again?"
I shook my head.
"Calum, I know what's going to happen. 6 months away from you is too long for me."
I sighed.
"And you."
I added in. I pushed myself up finally feeling stronger from the adrenaline. Calum put his head in his hands and rubbed his temple.
After a couple of minutes he finally decided to speak.
"I won't fight with you."
He took his head out of his hands and clasped his hands together looking me straight in the eye.
"But if that's what you want, then I'm fine with it."
He suddenly seemed tired. His eyes were droopy and beginning to become red.
Then he stood up and walked out closing the door a little too hard without another word.
Shit.
What did you do Misty?
