Chapter 21

Calum's POV

I woke up to the sound of a zipper being zipped up loudly. I groaned and rolled over to see Misty zipping up a white dress that seemed a little too formal for her. I rubbed my eyes and stretched out yawning.

"Goodmorning sleepy head"

She said as she pulled on black tights under her dress.

"Morning."

I said as I sat up. She came over to the bed and sat down. I noticed she was wearing the infinity necklace I got her a couple weeks ago. I'm glad she still wore it. I smiled and traced my fingers on the back of her neck where the strand of silver stuck on her skin. There were goosebumps forming on her skin.

"I'm going to go to work now."

She stood up and faced me.

"I'll see you later?"

I nodded and got up to give her a hug. I kissed the top of her head and squeezed her tightly waddling in a circle with my chin on top of her head.

"I'll miss you."

I let go of her so that I only held her arms. She laughed and poked my nose with her index finger.

"Ill be back at 6 you know. I'm not leaving forever."

She smiled and tip toed up to give me a peck on the lips before taking her purse and opening her room door and jogging down the steps. Once I heard the front door of Jess's house close I slowly made my way down stairs to see if Jess was home or not.

"Jess?"

I called her name as I opened the refrigerator door looking for something to eat. She didn't reply so I assumed she was sleeping. I grabbed the milk and set it on the island before looking for cereal in the pantry. I found some captain crunch and poured it in a bowl.

I went over to the dining table after pouring my milk and putting everything away. I slipping my hand in my pocket to grab my phone but it wasn't there. It was probably still upstairs. I took a spoonful of cereal before running back upstairs to get my phone off the bed where it lay.

I saw my black iphone light up as I opened the door to Misty's room. I probably got a text. I picked up the phone and unlocked it automatically going to my messages. The message was actually from Mona. I became confused as I clicked on the text.

- Hey it's me...can we talk? please

I stared at my phone thinking if I should or shouldn't. I didn't want to talk to her since that last time we talked she basically kidnapped me.

-why?

I tried to send that in the nicest way possible so it wouldn't seem rude. My phone buzzed seconds later so I opened it.

- I need to explain everything

What did she need to explain? There was nothing to explain. She was being a complete bitch to Misty. There that's the explanation. I decided not to reply and left it there so I could brush my teeth and clean myself up.

As I squeezed the toothpaste onto my toothbrush, my mind became full of thoughts about Mona and how great we were before Misty came.

Why did I break up with Mona? She only started to act weirdly for that one day that I saw Misty. I wanted to know answers. I rinsed my mouth of the Misty foam and went over to the bed where my phone lay.

-ok

I simply texted back. I didn't know what else to send. As I waited for her reply I went to go pack up my stuff to go back to the house after wards. My phone buzzed as I opened my duffle bag.
