Meanwhile...
This wasn't happening. This couldn't be happening. After four years. He sees him again after four fucking years. Zayn felt like he couldn't breathe. He felt as if his life had been drained from his body. Out of all the professors possibly available around the world, he had to be his new one. The man that basically ruined his entire life.
The dark haired beauty blankly stared at the familiar brunette as the young man leaned against the front of the desk, his eyes skimming over the attendance list. He changed a lot from the last time Zayn saw him. His hair was completely shaved off, but it was growing back again. His beard became a lot more thicker and scruffier. His body seemed more muscly and ripped through the dress shirt he was wearing. And he definitely got more tattoos on his arms. To say it didn't shock Zayn would have to be a lie.
Liam was still as handsome like he used to be- wait. No. Stop it, Zayn mentally scolded himself and he shook his head, reminding himself what happened four years ago. His knee was anxiously bouncing under the table and his mouth felt dry. He needed water to drench his thirst. So much water.
The twenty-one year old reached for his bag and pulled out a bottle of water, opening it and taking a few gulps from it. As much as he dreaded it, he could feel his morning sickness suddenly rising as his stomach began to churn. Having an anxiety attack during a pregnancy and in the middle of a lecture was never good. His heart was literally about to explode in his chest and his mind spun like crazy. He felt dizzy and hot. He could feel himself sweat and it wasn't really a very pleasant feeling. Not at all.
"Alright," Liam's voice reached Zayn's ears and his attention went back to the twenty-one year old, "I'll be calling out your names to see if everyone on this list has attended the class. Questions will be answered after I'm done." He mentioned and looked at the young girl in the back who was raising her hand, a blush visible on her pale cheeks as she lowered it.
"Stacey Woods?"
"Here."
"Joshua Launch?"
"Present."
"Vincent Alder?"
"Here!" Vincent said with excitement and enthusiasm evident in his voice, grinning big at their new professor. Zayn noticed the glances that were shared between them, causing him to narrow his brows in question. Liam had the exact same grin plastered on his face and he just licked his lips afterwards, looking back down at the student list and continued calling out the names.
"Zayn Ma–" that's when the brunette stopped himself mid way. The twenty-one year old was chewing the skin from his bottom lip anxiously as he awaited for the lad to continue. Yet Liam seemed to be figuring out whether he was reading the name right or if he was hallucinating.
The new professor looked up. His eyes started scanning the students until they met with Zayn's familiar hazel orbs. Both Liam and Zayn stared at each other for what felt like an eternity. The dark haired beauty debated whether he should get up and leave or just sit and see what happens next. He wasn't sure. But he knew that he was currently frozen in spot. He felt like a dear in the headlights – Liam being the headlights of course.
Zayn was the one who finally broke eye contact and looked away, covering his eyes with one hand. This cannot be happening, he thought to himself, using his other hand to pinch his arm to see if he was just dreaming again. He hissed. It wasn't. It wasn't a dream. It was reality. This was really happening. Liam Payne – his high school crush, the man he loved, the man who almost beat him to death and killed their child, the man who gave him the worst trauma ever – was his new professor for the rest of the semester. He was going to see him almost everyday now.
