"So you're telling me that your ex is your new professor?"

The therapist tried reading Zayn's blank expression as they sat across from each other, her lips pursed into a thin line. There was a silence that suddenly fell between them, the only sound being Miss Lee writing down everything that the twenty-one year old had just confessed. To say she wasn't surprised would have to be understatement. She, herself, never expected an encounter like this between them to happen.

It was early in the morning for both of them. Tuesday's was always Zayn's therapy session since his classes only started around noon. So they agreed, due to both their busy schedules, that Tuesday morning's was their time – and of course calls if there was ever an emergency.

"Yes." Zayn finally broke the silence as he stared straight ahead. "I haven't- I haven't told Evan yet." He swallowed the lump that had formed in his throat, rubbing his thumb against his palm. "And I'm kind of scared of telling him..." he continued slowly, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Why are you scared?" Miss Lee asked.

"Because," the boy inhaled deeply before exhaling, "I don't want him to worry. You know how protective he is. Especially since- since I told him about my miscarriage in high school." He gulped and looked down at his lap, trying to fight back the tears that were burning in his eyes. Whenever he thought about what happened, he was ready to cry. His body would start aching automatically and he'd receive flashbacks of the day. He dreaded them.

"You can't keep it a secret forever hun." His therapist spoke up with a sigh following after. "But if you aren't ready to tell him, don't pressure yourself. The last thing you need is to go through another miscarriage because you've been stressing too much about this." She assured him and sent a genuine smile his way.

Zayn nodded his head. "Thank you."

"Of course." The woman hummed. "Now tell me, has he tried any sort of contact with you?"

"Well," Zayn bit his lip, "we coincidentally bumped into each other yesterday in the park. He tried talking to me but I kind of avoided it and left as quick as possible." He admitted with a light blush forming on his cheeks.

Miss Lee wrote it down. "Do you remember what he said?"

"He just asked me how I've been." The dark haired latter shrugged.

"And how did you feel about that?"

"Honestly," Zayn looked at her, "I didn't know. It felt like I couldn't breathe anymore. But I know that deep down I was actually really angry with him." He licked his lips slowly and leaned back against the couch he was sitting on. "Like there was kind of like this flame inside of me which grew into something much bigger and when he asked me how I have been doing, I was fuming on the inside because how dare he." A puff fell from his lips as he fell back.

"There was apart of me who wanted to rip his head off right then and there while also wanting to rip his organs out and shove them back up his a–"

"Okay, that's enough." Miss Lee interrupted him before the lad could get any further into the detail, her nose lightly scrunching up. "I feel like you have a lot of rage wrapped up inside you." She chuckled and shook her head, looking down at her notes.

"I do. My hormones make it worse."

"I can tell." The woman ran her fingers through her dark curls, laughing lightly.

Zayn placed his hand on top of his bump and smiled a little, sighing heavily. He just hoped things would work out, but there was a feeling deeply inside of him that made him doubt everything. The therapy session continued for the next two hours, Zayn's thoughts mostly focusing on his feeling in his gut.

6 hours later
Tuesday afternoon
3.23pm
Columbia University

He was done with university for the day. After his therapy session with Miss Lee, Zayn went and got himself a proper breakfast. He didn't have much to eat when he left the house so he was craving for something big. He settled in a small diner near the downtown area and had himself a big meal for two. Once he was done, he paid the food and headed towards the university after grabbing a homemade coffee and thanking the staff for a nice meal. He passed the time by spending it usefully in the library studying for the upcoming exams. It reminded him a little of high school when he was so dedicated to get good grades. Now he was doing it so he could take over his father's company.

The latter did see Liam again today due to his business marketing lecture. He had decided to push everything that had happened between them aside since there was a thick tension between them and just concentrate on the fact that he was his professor now.

Currently, Zayn was making his way down the empty hallways of the university. His lectures had already ended but he still needed to drop last week's assignment off at Professor Thirwall's office, his art professor. The dark haired latter held onto the strap of his bag and hummed softly as he walked down the corridor, looking around the giant place.

He noticed two people from a distance standing in front of one of the lecture halls and being very close, almost as if they were making out. Zayn couldn't identify who it was at first. He fixed his glasses and squinted his eyes, walking closer towards them. It was only when he was a few meters away that he could finally properly recognize who it was.

Liam and Vincent.

For some reason, Zayn's heart did a thing. His steps slowed down and he could feel his heart make its way down to his stomach and his whole mood drop. He didn't know why, but his chest area, where his heart lies, kind of started to sting painfully, a visible frown forming his lips.

Liam would have never even thought of doing that four years ago. Just the topic of coming out had triggered him. And now, he was able to openly kiss another guy in public yet with Zayn – he just made him feel as if he was nothing but a sex toy. To say Zayn wasn't offended would have to be a lie. He felt mortified. I mean, it's been four years. He shouldn't be taken back by this. Yet he was.

His body slightly tensed as he watched the two stand there and kiss each other tenderly. He felt resentful just watching the scene, yet also rather envious. He shouldn't even be feeling this. He had a boyfriend who he loved and cared for. He was even carrying his child. So why does he feel jealous about Liam kissing another guy in public? Maybe because it's something he always wanted to do with Liam but it never happened.

Zayn's lips pursed. He was so deep in thought that he hadn't even realized the couple had pulled away after sensing someone's presence, the two staring at the latter. He caught himself staring and snapped out of it, his face turning a bright shade of red.

Just as Liam was about to say something to him, Zayn was quick to pass them and rush down the hall in pure embarrassment, his heart pounding heavy in his chest. Oh god, oh god, oh god, was all he thought as he exited the building and jogged down the stairs. He could tell from a far that his car was waiting on him, Ralph standing beside it while patiently looking around until the twenty-one year old reached him.

As soon as Zayn reach it, his and his boyfriend's chauffeur had already opened the car door, giving the uni student a chance to get in without any struggles. Once seated, a relieved sigh left him, his back leaning against the leathers seat and his heart still beating heavily. Well, that was embarrassing.

The lad cringed at his own actions that had just happened a few minutes ago, burying his face into his hands as the car started to get involved in the afternoon traffic of manhattan. Great – just great.
