Malik-Payne Mansion

It has already been four months since they moved back to their old hometown. Things were perfect. Kai immediately got used to the new surroundings and already loved the place, the dogs as well. The couple took the time to settle down to also plan the wedding on the side and take care of the pregnancy as well. Zayn's bump was getting bigger and bigger and the two of them couldn't wait until their kid was finally with them.

Zayn was fixing up a snack for him and Kai while carrying Kennette in his arm, humming softly. Liam was out running some errands for the new building he was planning on taking over.

As soon as he was done, he picked up the plate and carried it out to the garden where the four year old was playing with the dogs. He was kicking around a ball and Angel and Rover were chasing after it, jumping on it and kicking it away with their own paws. It was adorable.

The sun was shining brightly down, the sky clear. The day was beautiful and Zayn just enjoyed the warm spring slash summer breeze. It was nice. He put the plate down and called for Kai, watching as his stepson immediately ran towards the table and climb on one of the chairs.

He grabbed an apple slice and shoved it in his mouth, looking around the garden with his big brown eyes. Zayn chuckled at that and shook his head, feeding Kennette mashed bananas and strawberries.

"Zayn? I'm home!" The familiar voice of Liam echoed through the mansion, Kai's head immediately turning to the slide doors.

"Daddy!" The four year old screamed excitingly, dropping the half eaten slice on the table before jumping off the chair and rushing into the house.

Zayn smiled at that and turned around to watch his fiancé and his son step back out into the backyard, the two of them hugging each other. "Hey baby." He smiled at him, watching as the brunet leaned down and pecked his lips. "How was your day?"

"It was nice." Liam hummed, sitting down on Kai's chair with him on his lap.

"Did you get the building?"

"I did." The older male smiled proudly.

"That's great babe." Zayn hummed. "Maybe we can celebrate tonight." He told him, giving him a certain look.

Liam chuckled and nodded. "Always up for a little celebration." He grinned and petted Rover was patiently sitting beside him. His tail was waggling excitingly, his head leaning into his owners hand as he enjoyed the sudden attention. Angel had moved on to Zayn and Kennette, licking at the babies hand and jumping around playfully to make her laugh.

"So, what are you exactly planning on doing with the building?" Zayn questioned, continuing to feed Kennette, but she was too focused on the golden retriever.

Liam moved his gaze from Rover to Zayn, a soft smile forming on his lips. "Well," he started, clearing his throat, "after a lot of calls and doing a lot of ordering, I have decided to rebuild the record store..."

The dark haired beauty looked up from the baby girl and stared at his fiancé with wide eyes. "Are you serious?"

"I am." Liam chuckled.

"Baby." Zayn's lips curled into a huge smile.

"I found some old things at pop's place and thought it might be a good idea to restart the business. In honor of him, of course. The store was always a great place and it was the place you and I first officially started talking." Liam hummed. "I thought we could rebuild some of the nice memories we shared together and just leave everything bad behind us..."

Zayn smiled softly at the thought and nodded his head in agreement. "Let's rebuild some memories." He declared with a soft mutter, reaching over the table to grab his hand. Liam linked their fingers and pressed a gentle kiss to his knuckles, looking at him with a loving gaze.

The couple then spent the afternoon and evening designing the record store, making sure they put everything would add up to the original one. After they decided to call it a day and the kids were asleep, the two of them celebrated Liam's new deal by making sweet love.
