Meanwhile...

"Babe, are you okay?" Evan looked down at Zayn with a worried gaze as the younger latter tried to calm down from chocking, coughing heavily.

"I'm- I'm fine." He tried clearing his throat, his hand placed on his chest. "Wrong pipe." He panted and smiled a little, his attention shifting back to Liam who had the same expression as he had; shock. Seems like both weren't expecting to see each other at the event tonight.

"You want me to get you some water?"

"No baby I'm fine, thank you." Zayn assured him and patted his chest, licking his lips. He awkwardly coughed into his fist, trying to avoid the brunette.

"Hey I know you." Vincent suddenly spoke up, causing everyone to look at him. He was smiling cutely, pointing his finger at the twenty-one year old. "You're in my business marketing lecture... Zayn right?"

"Uh yeah," the pregnant lad nodded, "and you're Vincent?"

"That's me." The twenty year old giggled and nodded as well. "This is such a coincidence. Isn't it Liam?" He turned to look up at the taller latter, only to receive a hum in response. Liam quickly looked away as he brought his glass up to his lips, taking a sip from his drink. Obviously he was trying to avoid the twenty-one year old as well.

"You know each other?" Evan asked as he looked between the three, somehow sensing an elephant in the room.

"You could say that..." Zayn eyed Liam's appearance, noticing how he wasn't even sparing a glance towards him.

"Of course we know each other silly." Vincent chuckled. "Liam is our professor and we sit next to each other during the lecture." The latter made it very clear that the brunette was his boyfriend by placing his hand on his chest, staring at him lovingly. The older lad shifted his attention upon the shorter boy and smiled sweetly at him, both of them leaning in for a small peck.

Zayn rolled his eyes at them and mentally cursed Liam out, sending him a slight glare. He couldn't believe that he was his boyfriend's business partner. First he has to be stuck with him at college since he is his professor and now he has to worry about the fact that his boyfriend his working with his childhood crush. Perfect.

To top it all off, Zayn never told Evan about who that person was that caused him all the trauma. He told him about the situation he was put in, but never the specific person because he thought it wasn't important. Only his friends and therapist knew who Liam really was, but not Evan. And he wanted to keep it that way. For now at least. If the Canadian man knew who Liam was, Zayn'd be sure he'd never take the deal, but knowing both, it was important for the Jones Company.

Zayn's thoughts were interrupted when Vincent's voice reached his ears. "Li, my back hurts." The younger lad complained a little, his face twisting in pain. Liam instantly turned his attention towards his boyfriend.

"Do you want to take a seat baby?" Concern was evident in the brunette's voice, Zayn's body suddenly tensing. His grip around the martini glass tightened, rage and jealousy suddenly pumping through his veins.

"Please?" Vincent frowned a little, Liam being quick to do as his partner wished. He walked them around their table and pulled out a chair for him, helping him take a seat. The younger latter thanked him and asked him to get him a drink, the businessman happily obliging.

"I'll be right back." He assured him and kissed his cheek before he left, Zayn watching him like a hawk. Knowing how open Liam suddenly was with Vincent and comparing that to the Liam back in high school made his blood boil. He would have never been like this if they were back to being sixteen and seventeen again. He knew that the oh-so perfect jock would be a coward and hide himself behind a face that wasn't even his. All because of his reputation and a toxic relationship.
