It's afterschool and everyone is going home. While Kalina is walking home, Roosevelt calls for her.
"Hey wait up!"
Kalina stops walking and turns around.
"No staying after school today?" Kalina said.
"No, I just wanted to let you know that the photo is gone."
"Like gone gone?"
"Yes, I spent the night at Harper's and I managed to get a hold of her phone and computer and delete all the files."
"Files? She took multiple pictures?!"
Roosevelt remains quiet.
"You lied to me. You said it was only one picture."
"That was before I hacked her computer. Everything's down the drain and I'll make sure that Harper keeps her mouth shut."
"In Harper's eyes, you still work for her. What makes you think she's gonna listen to you?"
"In Harper's eyes, I'm the dumbass. I've been cheerleading for 3 years and never got kicked off a team because of bad grades like the other girls here at Rosewater."
"Interesting." Kalina says as she walks away.
"Wait!"
Kalina walks back to Roosevelt.
"Does Bianca know?"
"Yeah she does. I trust her, and she likes it. She likes me."
"What will happen if you tell the wrong person? Do you have to move back to Hawaii?"
"No. I don't tell people because it's not their business."
"One more thing, Harper said that her and Bianca broke up, why do I have a feeling that she's lying?"
"You don't know the real story."
"What is the real story?"
Kalina tells Roosevelt everything. Meanwhile Bianca and Annika meet with their party planner to discuss Bianca's anniversary party.
"Ok, this is the where we are gonna take your pictures, we'll take pictures when you're with your friends as well." Belinda said.
"That's nice. What do you think Bianca?"
"It's pretty cool. The only question I have is about my dress."
"What's wrong with it?" Belinda said.
Bianca takes out her phone and pulls up the picture of her dress.
"I don't mind looking fancy, but I don't wanna look like I'm getting married."
"Sweetie, my wedding dress was bigger than that. You'll be fine." Annika said.
"Annika, it's her party and it's her dress, if she doesn't like her dress, she doesn't have to wear it."
Annika gives Belinda a rude look.
"Bianca, you can bring the dress to me and we'll talk tomorrow to discuss what you wanna change."
"Thanks Belinda."
"Very well, let's go upstairs."
Bianca and Annika follow Belinda upstairs.
"What do all these doors lead to?" Annika said.
"Oh they're rooms. If the party lasts all night, people can sleep here."
"Thank you, but you can go ahead and block these rooms." Annika said.
"Annika, I know how much you adults like your champagne, and there's always that one person that's gonna drink the whole bottle."
"You really think I'm gonna drink in front of my daughter and her minor friends?"
"Why does that matter?"
Annika scoffs.
"She's 16!"
"You know how our generation is today. Pre-teens are drinking now. Anyway Bianca it's your party, what do you think?"
Bianca's gets a text from Kalina.
"I think I have to come back later. I have plans with someone."
Bianca leaves and gets in the car with Kalina. They both go to get ice cream.
"They almost fought?" Kalina said.
"Yeah, I mean I know my mom wants me to have a best party ever, but Belinda's right. It's my party and I'm the one that has been swimming for 5 years."
Kalina nods in agreement.
"So is there anything you're gonna change?"
"Everything is pretty much perfect, except my dress."
"What's wrong with it?"
Bianca shows her dress.
"OK we're celebrating your swimming."
"I know. I'm probably gonna change the color and make it less poofy."
Kalina looks at Bianca's necklace.
"You're wearing the necklace."
"Of course. It's so pretty, just as pretty as the girl that gave it to me."
Kalina blushes.
"Come on."
"Where are we going?"
"Come on." Kalina says as she grabs Bianca's hand and drives to the beach.
"What are we doing here?"
Kalina grabs Bianca's hand and runs to the water. Kalina takes off her shoes and pants and so does Bianca. They both put their feet in the water and they both transform to mermaids.
"Oh my god, what did you do to me?" Bianca said.
"It's the necklace." Kalina said.
"So by any chance, do you know a girl named Roosevelt?" Kalina said.
"Oh yeah. She's co-captain cheerleader. Why?"
"Remember when we went to school so you can practice your swimming for the competition?"
"Yeah."
"I went to the bathroom and she was there."
"You might wanna stay away from her Kalina. She's friends with Harper."
"I know. She told me. She also told me that Harper spied on me one night at the beach, in my mermaid form."
"What? She knows?"
"Yeah, and apparently she has a master plan against Harper. She told me earlier today that she hacked her phone and computer and deleted all the pictures."
"She did?"
"Yeah. She also said that she'll make sure that she doesn't say anything."
"I'm confused. First, she's Harper's minion, now she wants to kill her? How does that happen?"
"She said she's tired of Harper pushing her around to spy on us."
"I don't know. What about Candy?"
"Candy? The only candy I know is Snickers."
"Candy is Roosevelt's partner in crime. Did she say anything about her?"
"No."
Bianca puts her head on Kalina's shoulder and Kalina puts her arm around her.
