Harper's Warning

Kalina spends the night at Bianca's house and they sleep on the same bed. Morning comes and they wake up together.

"It's morning already? I feel like I just fell asleep." Kalina said.

"Well there was no alcohol I'll tell you that." Bianca said.

They both laugh. Bianca kisses Kalina's neck while she reads the texts she got from Chloe a few hours ago.

"Holy fuck I'm dead."

"What's wrong?" Bianca says as she stops kissing.

"My sister has been texting me nonstop about where I am."

"Did you not tell her that I was having a party?"

"No I didn't because then she would want to come, and trust me you wouldn't want her to come."

"Why?"

Kalina looks Bianca in the eyes.

"Trust me."

Bianca's eyes turn black.

"Woah. What just happened? I just saw black."

"You saw my truth. If tell you something that's true, that's what happens."

"What if you lie to me?"

"You don't have to worry about that. I'd never lie. You believe that right?"

"Yes."

Kalina and Bianca continue kissing then Chloe texts Kalina again.

"Oh my god!"

Kalina checks her phone.

"You better be at school! I swear she gets on my nerves sometimes."

Bianca laughs.

"If you think about it, she's psychic. We do have to get ready for school in a few minutes."

"And see Harper's lying bitch face again, I'm good sweetie." Kalina says as she kisses Bianca on the cheek.

"After what she did to my mom last night, you think I wanna see her?"

"Alright then, let's stay home." Kalina says as she kisses Bianca.

While Kalina and Bianca are kissing, K'lynn enters the room.

"What the hell." K'lynn said.

Kalina and Bianca stop kissing.

"Oh, hey K'lynn." Kalina said.

"Hey." K'lynn says awkwardly.

"If y'all plan on ditching school, maybe today's not the day. Unless mom knows about this."

"She knows." Bianca said.

"Alright then, but I would still go to school." K'lynn says as she leaves the room.

"I have an idea." Kalina said.

"What is it?"

"How about I hide in here and you go to school?"

"How about we both go to school and face Harper together?"

"Why are you so smart?"

"I don't know."

"Fine I'll go." Kalina says rolling her eyes.

Kalina kisses Bianca and gets up to go to the bathroom, but Bianca stops her.

"K'lynn always showers first."

"She's not showering right now is she?"

Kalina and Bianca here the water running in the bathroom.

"Nevermind." Kalina said.

Bianca and Kalina start kissing again. Time goes by and Bianca, Kalina, and K'lynn get to school and attend the school assembly. Bianca, K'lynn, and Sophia sit together while Kalina, Mya, and Stacey sit together. Harper sits a row above them.

"Good morning ladies and gentleman. I am Principal Davis for the plethora of new students we've been having this month."

Mya lightly punches Kalina on the arm and Kalina smirks.

"I don't normally have morning assemblies on Tuesdays, but the purpose of this is to address a few things that have happened recently."

Sophia looks at Bianca's necklace.

"That's a pretty necklace, did Kalina get that for you?" She whispered.

Bianca chuckles. Harper overhears them and rolls her eyes.

"Now, a new student recently transferred here from a very beautiful place."

Kyle, Bianca, and Corey look at Kalina.

"This student recently got involved in an altercation between two other students."

Bianca and Kalina look at Sophia while Sophia and Harper look at each other.

"Although this student did not get in trouble, this assembly is to remind everyone that if you witnessed a fight or heard of one. You report to me immediately. You don't break it up, you don't record the fight, you report it. I have also come across the fact that racial slurs are being used to infer that there are some illegal immigrants here."

Sophia, Kalina, and Bianca look at Harper.

"Let me remind you that Rosewater is popular for our strict policy against bullying or any sort of harassment, especially if it involves calling someone a wetback or a bohunk."

The girls continue to look at Harper.

"I'm starting to think that we should make that policy more strict. Starting today, if a racial slur is heard by a teacher or staff, it's an automatic suspension."

The assembly goes on and the students head back to class. Bianca and Sophia take their seats.

"Did Harper call you a wetback?" Bianca said.

Sophia sits quietly.

"And you didn't do anything about it?"

"We were in the principal's office when it happened. What did you expect me to do? Besides she got detention for it."

"That's not enough. She messed with us and now she's trying to get at Kalina and she's probably using Candy and Roosevelt to do it."

Harper walks in the room and takes her seat. Bianca gets up and Sophia grabs her arm.

"What are you doing?" Sophia said.

"Fulfilling justice."

Bianca walks up to Harper and pounds her desk, scaring Harper.

"Just so you know, Sophia was born in America and lived here almost her whole life, which makes her just as American as you."

Bianca goes back to her seat, then stops.

"Oh and stay away from Kalina." Bianca says as she goes back to her seat.
