I groaned as my eyes fluttered open irritated by the bright lights. My eyes quickly adjusted to the large amounts of white. There was a large window that I could see through. It looked like early morning maybe 6AM since the sun was barely risen. I looked to the other side of the room surprised. Ian was sleeping his head rested on the side of the bed his hands placed on my hand. Multiple wires connected me to large machines. One of them was beeping which annoyed me greatly. I stared down at Ian as he began to stir. He slowly rose and stretched looking at me tiredly. He gasped as he saw me looking at him. He looked like he was about to begin crying when multiple nurses and doctors filled into the room. He was asked to leave as they began asking me questions and poking me. When everything settled about an hour later Ian and his parents entered the room. I looked at them my vision hazy.

“Are you okay?” Ian asked worriedly

“I-I’m fine.” I groaned my voice cracked like I hadn’t talked in a while.

“Thank goodness!” Mrs. Wednesday sighed

“What’s wrong?” I laughed nervously

“Oh Honey… They haven’t told him yet.” Mrs. Wednesday looked at her husband as she said the last part.

“T-Tell me what?” I asked starting to get worried. Mrs.Wednesday walked over to me and sat in the chair next to the bed and put my hand in hers.

“Honey… You’ve been in a coma for almost 7 months.” Mrs.Wednesday whispered trying to sound comforting. I couldn’t believe it. How could I have been In a coma for 7 months! I just don’t understand. I looked around the room and Mrs.Wednesday, Mr.Wednesday, and Ian shocked.

“I-It’s okay. We had to turn over your horses to the humane society. Believe me we would’ve kept them but we couldn’t support a growing teenage boy and 4 horses.” Mrs.Wednesday seemed empathetic. I was to shocked about a fucking coma to care about 4 horses right now.

“Ma tell him the good news!” Ian smiled. His voice knocked me out of my thoughts and I looked at him then his mother. She smiled at her son and looked at me.

“You needed a foster family for about a year since you are 17 and we agreed to be that foster family!” She smiled widely

“R-Really?!? I can finally have a real family?” I asked almost crying

“Of course honey!” Mrs.Wednesday smiled hugging me. I returned her hug as I cried. I’m so happy to finally be getting an actual family!
