AN: Hey! Okay so, I wanted to fill you guys in on some stuff. So, the reason some updates take forever to get out is because I actually do not have a phone right now because I have two Fs in school and I am not supposed to be on the computer. I sneak on when my step dad leaves for work and update stuff and watch youtube. Some days I can't go on anything at all because my step dad is home all day, which means I can't sneak on. I am trying to get my grades up but I am a deep deep hole with it all and it's really stressful for me. I'm sorry if updates take awhile, but now you know why they do. So, let's get to this chapter!

(Sam POV)

It has been a few days since that party. We actually go home tomorrow, and I am terrified.

When we get back, me and Colby have to tell everyone we are back. We get to start up the Sam and Colby channel again and Colby said he even wants to move back into the house. I am excited and I love the idea of all of it, but, me and Colby have become a bit more then friends.

We aren't dating. I think. But we act like a couple. Sometimes. It's only been a few days since we first kissed so, I have no idea what's going on.

It's like, we are so close but so distant from each other. Well, Colby is very distant. Has been. Especially today. It's like he isn't there sometimes. He is quiet and cold. His eyes are like ice to look at right now, a few days ago they comforted me but today it's hard to look at them.

He has put walls up. You can tell. Before, Colby would make a stupid joke about something one of us messed up on and we would laugh. Now, you can see how he pushes the desire to talk away.

I sometimes remember that it probably is my fault and it kills me. I did this to Colby. I messed up.

"Sam, do you have all your stuff packed up?" Colby asked looking at me.

I snapped my head away from the wall I was staring at, "Almost. Can't believe we are leaving, it's so nice here. Gaulala is on my return list." I said reaching over and throwing my clothes in the bag.

"You have a return list?" He asked throwing a bag off his bed.

"Yeah. So far I have New Zealand, Dubai, Utah just because it's fun there, and now Gaulala." I said laying back on my bed.

Colby nodded and looked down at his phone. He was scrolling through pictures, I couldn't see what they were from where I was though.

I sighed and closed my eyes. I found myself thinking of high school memories. I remember getting in trouble at malls with Colby, being stupid at school with Colby, exploring places just for fun with Colby. Everything was with Colby.

For some reason the pain of the quiet hit me. I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling. It was a pale shade. It was bumpy and looked a bit old.

"Colby?" I asked.

"Yeah?" He said.

"How are you?" I asked.

There was a small silence.

"I'm good. I'm happy to just, be here." He said.

"Really?" I asked.

"... Yeah." He said before it was silent again.

Why is it so quiet in here?

I laid down and picked my phone up to see what time it was. Eleven pm. I turned over and looked over at Colby who looked tired.

"We should go to bed. You know, so we aren't very tired tomorrow during the ride and all the stops." I said.

"Yeah." Colby said plugging his phone in.

I scooted over and Colby came over to my bed. I found Colby sleeps much more when he isn't alone.

We awkwardly stared at each other for a moment. There was a scary feeling. Well not scary, a nervous feeling. Maybe a mix. Plus a bit of panic. I don't know why.

"You okay?" Colby asked.

I nodded and scooted closer to him before closing my eyes and soon falling asleep.

-

I woke up to Elton shaking me, "Sam get up we need to hit the road."

"Mmm, yeah yeah." I said yawning and sitting up. I noticed Colby was gone.

I got my bags and my phone and started walking out to the living room where everything was. Elton had pulled his camera out and was filming some stuff.

"Hey Sam! You ready to go home?" He asked.

"Yeah!" I said excited. I looked over to the back and saw Colby outside.

I walked over and joined him.

"It's so foggy." I said loking around.

"Yep, foggy day. It's nice though, I like it." Colby said smiling.

And suddenly Colby looks alive again. The cold is gone, it's weird. But it returns after a moment.

I wonder if he knows he has gone cold. Or if he knows that I know. Have I gone cold and maybe everything is just cold? No, cause it's only Colby.

"I can't wait to get back to LA. I sometimes miss it." He said looking out at the ocean.

Colby is warm to me again suddenly. Maybe he was just in a funk?

Because 30 minutes later when we are on the road, Colby stays happy. So, maybe it was just the town.

"This is going to be a nice road trip." Colby said leaning back and looking out the window.

"Yep." I said.

For some reason, I'm not that scared of going home anymore. I can't wait to announce that me and Colby are back.
