I'll Never Understand

You know what I'll never understand,

You could confront your demons head on, build up the courage to face that one person who caused you so much pain,

Damaged your soul,

Took advantage of your healing spirit,

And that person will look you in the eyes and say they never hurt you.

You can't tell me you didn't do it,

The amount of time I spent going through it.

Clamy hands and flinching,

Nerve-wracking. Gut wrenching.

The amount of time I spent blaming myself,

Told myself there was a reason, That it was my fault.

You can't tell me you didn't brake me,

You don't have the right to say that you didn't hurt me.

You took away my purpose,

It took me years to find it again.

All the time wasted on you.

And to this day,

You'll still try to tell me you didn't do anything wrong,

That everything you did to me was justifiable and necessary

Worst part is,

I can't get away from you. Only temporarily.
