Lionel sighed as he stared out of his hotel room window and looked out over the city of New York; he never expected to be back in the city again after he had married Viola, but here he was.

The argentine sighed wondering what he would do if his wife wanted to continue with their divorce, he suddenly felt sick at the thought of losing Viola; he shook his head as he took a deep breath.

“Leo, Viola’s here,” Maria Sol said making her brother look at her, he ran a hand through his hair nervously as he nodded at her; she offered him a small smile before allowing Viola into the hotel room.

Lionel swallowed when he realised that she was alone and hadn't brought Thiago with her, he slowly approached the brunette who crossed her arms as she looked at him.

“Viola,” Lionel murmured as he looked at his wife, she swallowed as they were left alone with Maria Sol offering them a small smile as she left.

“Lionel,” Viola replied making him flinch at the sound of his full name leaving her lips, he swallowed knowing that he deserved her anger right now and he only hoped that he would be able to make it up to her.

“Viola, I am so sorry for what I put you and Thiago through; I know what I did was unforgivable but I want to make it up to you,” Lionel said hopefully as the two of them moved to sit down, he watched her admiring how she looked and hoped that she would come around soon.

Viola sighed as she ran a hand through her hair, she had come straight from work and Joseph had agreed to watch Thiago while she was with Lionel.

“Leo, I don’t think we can go back to the way we were… things have changed for us,” Viola said making Lionel stare at her heartbreakingly, he licked his lips as he tried to think of what he could do to make things right.

“I won’t keep Thiago from you, he is your son but I can’t come back to Barcelona,” Viola said shaking her head as she set down her black studded roland satchel as she looked at the man that she had once loved.

Lionel stared at her as her words started to sink in, he didn't know what to say in response; he didn't want to lose her and it was now clear that it might already be too late.

Viola watched him knowing that he had hoped that she would come back to Barcelona with him; however she wasn’t the same person anymore that he had married anymore.

“I can’t lose you Lala, tell me what I can do to make this right,” Lionel said shaking his head as he moved closer to his wife, he wasn’t about to let her walk out of his life; he had stupidly let her go once and he wasn’t going to do it again.

The brunette sighed as she looked at him.

“I don’t think there is anything that you can do, we need to move on with our lives Leo,” Viola said softly making tears fill Lionel’s eyes as he stared at the woman that he loved; he shook his head as he tried not to cry at the thought of what she was suggesting.

Lionel smiled as he held his son close, he cuddled Thiago in his arms while Viola spoke quietly with Joseph; the argentine hated the man that replaced him in his wife’s life and he couldn't believe that this was it for them.

“I’ll see you later,” Joseph said as he pressed a kiss to Viola’s lips, Lionel glared at the other man and resisted the urge to attack him for touching his wife.

Viola nodded her head as she opened and closed the door for him before she turned her attention to Lionel, who was holding Thiago; she tried to ignore the look that Lionel had on his face.

Viola crossed her arms as she looked down at her outfit from work that consisted of a brown lace insert top and black skinny leather trousers paired with black glitter ankle boots; she sighed as she moved towards her estranged husband and their son.

“He’s gotten big,” Lionel mused as he held his seventeen week old son close to him, he looked at Viola who forced a smile and nodded her head.

“Can we talk about this Viola?” Lionel asked as he held his son close, he wasn’t about to lose the two most important people in his life; she sighed as she nodded at the living room knowing that she had to be honest with him.

“I have something that I need to tell you,” Viola said as she looked at him as they moved into her living room, Lionel looked at her concerned; he didn't know what she was about to tell him but it worried him.

The brunette sighed as she sat down followed by Lionel, he looked at her wondering what she was about to tell him.

“I’m currently eleven weeks pregnant,” Viola said softly making Lionel stare at her, the brunette knew that this would only make things hard on her when she tried to end things with him.

The footballer licked his lips as he stared at his estranged wife; he knew that now that she had told him this that he couldn't allow her to walk out of his life.

“Tell me what I need to do to make our marriage work? I’ll move here, I’ll give up football, I’ll do whatever you want,” Lionel said desperately as he realised that he had to make things right.

He couldn't allow his children to be raised into a feuding family that were forced to fly across the world because their parents were separated.

Viola shook her head as she felt her heart lurch as she realised that he was willing to sacrifice his entire life for her; she wasn’t going to let him do that for her.

“Leo, it would be better if we just ended our marriage; I couldn’t ask you to leave Barcelona, to leave your career for me,” Viola said softly as she looked at him sadly, she suddenly felt horrible for wanting to divorce the perfect man in front of her.

“You didn't ask, I’m offering… I will do anything for you and the children, I want you back Viola, I love you,” Lionel said as he shifted his hold on Thiago; he wasn’t about to allow anything to stop him from having his wife and children back.

Viola sighed as she ran a hand through her hair, she knew that he wasn’t making this hard on her but it would be better if they ended things now.

“Tell me you don’t love me and I’ll let you go,” Lionel said making Viola stare at him, she hadn't expected him to ask anything like this from her; she opened her mouth to tell him the words that would end things before she shook her head.

“You know that I love you,” Viola murmured as she looked at him, tears filled her eyes as she allowed him close to her; Lionel smiled softly as he realised that all wasn’t lost.

The brunette blinked back tears as she tried to calm herself down, she licked her lips as she looked at her husband; Lionel brushed away some of her tears as he offered her a small smile.

“I will do whatever you want Lala, as long as I have you and Thiago then I am happy,” Lionel said as he cupped Viola’s face, her brown eyes searched his as he carefully moved to hold her and Thiago in his arms.

Viola closed her eyes as he held her close to him.

“I know you can’t come back to Barcelona, but I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make this marriage work,” Lionel said as he rested his head against hers; he was willing to make this work no matter how far the distance between them.

Viola opened her eyes as she realised that if she were to allow Lionel to walk out of her life again, then it would be the biggest mistake of her life.
