Lionel was a little surprised how fast Viola’s pregnancy with their second child progressed and how strong their relationship seemed to get as they settled back into life as man and wife.

The brunette had somehow managed to get a job working on one of Barcelona’s morning television shows and Viola was thrilled to be back working; she liked that it gave her, her own independence and Lionel was only too happy to sort her.

The only downside that they could find in their happiness was that Viola’s parents hadn't come around to the fact that their eldest daughter was completely innocent; they refused to acknowledge her and it worried Lionel how his wife was coping with this separation from them.

Thiago was now about ten months old and the couple had no choice but to baby proof the house as soon as he turned nine months old; the couple had been joined by Lionel’s family as they awaited the birth of their second child.

Celia chuckled as she picked Thiago up, she grinned as she looked over at her husband and youngest son as they attempted to build a play pen for the little boy.

“Just because it’s baby proof does not mean that it’s Messi proof,” Celia teased making Viola smile as she rested her hand on her nearly nine month pregnancy bump, she looked at her husband who groaned knowing what his mother was talking about.

“When Rodrigo turned three, we were heading out for dinner and he insisted on being the one to open the garage door; he’d not long figured out that the keypad by the back door wasn’t an alarm. Jorge eventually picked him up after he made a big enough fuss about pushing the buttons; we figured he’d get bored of it after a while. Imagine our shock when the light went green for the first time,” Celia said as she started to fill Viola in on what it meant to have a child that was a Messi.

“Then there was Matías, who hacked the newly installed baby locks on the kitchen cupboards when he was two; I had just spent two hours installing them and Matías walked straight up and showed me how to open them, I had to go out and buy a completely new set,” Jorge said annoyed as he continued to fight with the playpen.

Viola raised an eyebrow at her husband wondering what his great feat was, however her attention was stolen by Thiago.

“Mama,” he said holding out his arms, Lionel frowned at his son who had yet to call him anything but No Mama; his entire family found it funny when Thiago had repeatedly called Lionel it no matter how hard he tried to get him to say Papa.

“Lionel nearly gave me a heart attack when he escaped from his bed when he was two years old and managed to open the baby gate before he climbed into the washing machine,” Celia said making Viola stare at her, she had a feeling that Thiago was going to follow in his father’s footsteps in more than one way.

The brunette rested a hand on her stomach making Celia raise an eyebrow at her, she had a feeling that Viola was keeping something quiet and she knew that the brunette would tell them when she was ready.

“Finally Maria Sol managed to open a bottle of Advil when she was two years and eleven months old,” Jorge said concluding the tales of his children; Viola knew that Louisa and Florencia had their own tales about what their children were capable of.

Looking at his wife concerned, Lionel sighed as he moved towards her after dinner; he had picked up on her behaviour earlier and he knew what was happening even if she didn't say anything about it.

“How long?” Lionel asked softly as he stopped by her side, he didn't want to alert anyone else to what was going on; he had recognised the signs as soon as Viola had started to show them.

The brunette glanced at her husband, she knew that she should have expected him to figure out what was going on; he might not have noticed when she was pregnant with Thiago but he had noticed this time.

“A couple of hours, my waters haven’t broken yet,” Viola said as he rested a hand on the swell of her stomach, he licked his lips nervously at the thought that Viola was in labour with their little girl.

The footballer had been thrilled when they learnt that they were expecting a daughter, he couldn't help but think about how complete his family would be by having a little girl of his own.

“You’ll tell me if it becomes too much?” Lionel asked concerned making Viola nod her head, she took a deep breath as another contraction hit; she couldn't believe that it was happening today, the couple were surprised that she was arriving right on time like her brother.

“I’ll settle Thiago down and then I’ll be right back,” Lionel said as Viola moved to settle on the couch, she took a deep breath as she sat down and rested a hand on her stomach. However just as Lionel went to leave the room, Viola looked at him.

“My water just broke,” she said making him look at her; he knew that it was time for them to head to the hospital and have their little girl.

Viola smiled tiredly as she looked at her husband holding their daughter, she couldn't believe that after four hours of labour that she’d given birth to Gabriela Leola Messi Grayson.

“She’s perfect Lala,” Lionel murmured as he stared down at his daughter, she was a little smaller than her brother had been but she was none the less perfect; the footballer hadn't been able to set Gabriela down since she had been placed in his arms.

“Gracias,” Lionel whispered as he kissed his wife’s lips, he knew that she was exhausted; this delivery had been quicker than Thiago’s and seemed to have drained all of her energy.

Viola looked at him confused as Lionel shifted his hold on Gabriela, he smiled down at his daughter before turning his attention to his wife.

“I don’t know what I did to deserve you but I want to thank you for giving me a family, I have everything that I have ever wanted and it’s because of you,” Lionel said softly as he kissed her again; the brunette blinked back tears at his sweet words.

The couple pulled apart as Gabriela whimpered making Lionel sigh before he carefully handed her back to Viola; the brunette noticed the look on her husband’s face and smiled softly.

“Is there anything we need to do?” Viola asked as she prepared to feed Gabriela, the little girl was only a couple of hours old and she seemed to be doing well.

Lionel shook his head; he had already announced the birth like he had Thiago’s and the little boy was staying with Celia and Jorge while the couple were at the hospital.

“She’s not allowed to date until she’s thirty,” Lionel mused making Viola smile as she looked at her husband, she had a feeling that this would happen when they had a little girl; Lionel carefully ran a hand through Gabriela’s short brown hair.

“I’m serious,” the footballer insisted as his wife laughed softly before she pecked his lips, the brunette knew that when they brought Gabriela home that certain things would change; she hoped that they would still be able to find time for one another with two young children.
