Luke's POV
It was around three, and I was still at Michael's place. It was weird how I didn't want to leave. But, for the most part, I was worried about him. I mean, for a while, he'd be happy, then if something reminded him of Ashton, he'd quiet down a bit. At least I was here. I was here to be with Michael, not just sleep with him and leave.
I mean, I'm not a prostitute.
I plugged my phone in to let it charge, then went back to Michael on the couch, playing the 'Pursuit of Happiness'. Again. He lies on the couch, taking up the whole thing. "Mind if I sit?" I asked jokingly. "Yes, actually I do mind," He smiled. I walked around and sat on his legs. "Ow! Okay, okay. I'll move," He yelped, holding back laughter.
"That's what I thought," I chuckled. He put his head on my shoulder. "I can't believe you're watching this again, after you nearly soaked my shirt last time," I joked. He playfully hit me. "I did not," He protested. "Did too," I retorted.
"Did not."
"Did too."
"Did not."
"Did too."
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
We went on, until I couldn't say 'did too' without laughing. "Ha! I win, therefore I did not!" Michael teased. I rolled my eyes. "You know you did," I joke. He smiles, scooting closer to me. I interlocked our fingers, kissing his hand. "What are you? A prince?" He joked. "Maybe," I wink.
"You're my prince," He said. I pull him closer to me. I press my lips against his, holding his body. I couldn't say the three words stuck in the lump in my throat. I wanted to say them, but I couldn't. I couldn't say them to someone I used to hate.
Michael's POV
"You're my prince," I say, cheekily. Luke smiles, pulling me closer. He pressed his lips against mine, holding me against him. This was to good to be true. It reminded me of... Of my dream. The one I had the day Ashton had a panic attack.
I didn't want to think if it that way, but it was the only thing on my mind. I pull back slowly. Luke smiled, holding my head. I glanced at the watch on his arm. It was nearly four. Calum would be expecting him soon, then I'd be alone. "What's wrong Michael?" He asked. I guess my smile had faded. "I just don't want you to leave," I admit. "I've still got an hour with you Mikey," He says. I smile when he calls me 'Mikey'. He kisses my temple, keeping his arm around me.
"Lukey and Mikey. This is what we've gone to?" I joke. "What's wrong with that? Mikey," He winked, pausing before he said 'Mikey'. "Want to go out?" He asked. I cocked an eyebrow unsuccessfully. "I thought we were," I smirk, kissing his cheek. "No. I mean yeah, we are. But I mean go out. Like leave the flat," He corrects. I smile and start to chuckle. "Sure."
We got in his car, just driving around town. I was admiring the world outside the apartment. I hadn't left in a while, other than the video store. I smile, remembering running into Alex. I start to laugh remembering how Luke was acting all jealous of him. "What's so funny?" He asked. I shake my head. "No, no. Tell me," He demands. "I've got nothing to say to you Lukey," I say, trying to hold back my loud laughs.
"Mikey!" He says, laughing and hitting me. "Luke. Don't hit me, you're driving," I scold, playfully. "Oh C'mon Mikey. I know how to drive," He chuckled. "Maybe, but you can't say the same for everyone else here," I retort.
Luke smiled, briefly looking at me, then back at the road. I look him, watching him drive, feeling like a little tyke. Then I feel an impact. I see the windshield crack and shatter in some parts. The world feels like its moving in slow motion. Luke covers his eyes and reaches for me. The last thing I see replays in my mind.
Luke's smile.
