Luke's POV
Michael kissed my cheek. What game was he playing, trying to get me to like him? I didn't think that he was actually that desperate for love. But when I looked at him after he pulled back, he had a slight blush an He was staring at his shoes. I felt my mouth form a small side smile.
"S-See you around then," He says awkwardly. Without hesitation, which probably surprised me more than him, I kissed his forehead and left. He didn't say anything. I didn't say anything. I left, got in my car, and drove back to my apartment. My mind was racing. I really kissed the boy. The boy I've hated since grade 9. What the fuck?
I smile as I drive, unable to stop, like the day I ran into him at the video store. A lot can happen in 2 days. A lot did happen in 2 days. I unlock the door and walk in. I see Ashton and Calum. They were sitting on the couch, just sitting. "What's going on?" I asked. "Luke. Come back later," Calum said. Calum hardly ever told me to do anything, so I left. But in reality, I was sitting outside the door, falling asleep from boredom as I waited for him to give me the 'okay' text.
I'm gonna be here a while.
Calum's POV
I was in the kitchen, when the door opened. No jingle from the keys, just an opening and closing of the door. "Where you been Luke?" I ask, walking out. There wasn't any Luke around, just some boy. "Where's Luke?" I ask, eyeing the stranger. "I don't know. I just came to get my keys," He shrugs. "Oh. You're that boy who was here last night. Austin?" I say. "Ashton," He corrects. "Sorry."
He grabs his keys off the couch and holds them. "Okay then. Tell Luke I said 'bye'," He said. "Why don't you hang out for a while. I mean, unless you've got plans," I suggest. "You sure? I don't want to force you or anything," He says. I nod. "Luke always takes forever to get home. I think its time for some human interaction," I joke. He smiles and sits on the couch.
We were messing around, getting to know each other, as the movie played. Ashton was constantly making me laugh. I was sorta returning the favor. He moved next to me, which was okay. I mean, we're just friends. I'm not gay. Finally, towards the end of the movie, we were paying attention, a bit lost in the storyline.
I felt something on my knee, but I ignored it. When I looked, t was Ashton's hand. I jumped. "What's wrong?" He asked. "You're gay?" I ask in shock. He blushes and looks down. "There's nothing wrong with that. My best mate's gay. But I, you see, I'm straight," I explain. He nods. "Sorry," Be apologized. "Don't be." The movie ended and I asked Ashton if he hang around until Luke got back. He agreed.
I laid back on the couch and Ashton lied next to me. "Ashton. I'd really appreciate it if you don't lie next to me," I mumble. He scoots away from me. Rather quickly. "Ashton, I-I-I just don't swing that way," I say, sympathetic. He shakes his head. "No. It's fine," He says. "Just don't go until Luke gets back. I don't like being home alone all the time," I beg. "Okay. And I won't get to comfortable," He says with a weak smile.
I picked another movie on Netflix and let it play. Instead of Ashton sitting next to me, I sat next to him. Even though I'm not gay, I didn't want him to feel isolated or lonesome just because of his sexuality. He started to fall asleep, and I'll say this, he looked adorable. Not 'I freaking love you' adorable, more like 'puppy' adorable.
He finally past out and his head fell against my shoulder area. I know he had no control over that, so I couldn't really get mad at him. But for some reason, I felt more comfortable than when we were just sitting next to each other. I can't think like this, I'm straight. Sorry Ashton, but that's the way I was born. but as the movie played on, Ashton stayed asleep, and his head didn't move. I smiled at him. The movie ended and I turned off the tv.
I moved his head and woke him up. "You just missed the whole movie!" I laugh. He smiles drowsily. Then, I heard keys jingling outside the door. I didn't want Luke to think I was gay so I distanced myself from Ashton, and we just looked at each other for no reason. "What's going on here?" He asked. I gulped. "Luke. Come back later," I said. He shut the door behind him. Well that was easy.
Ashton squirmed in his seat. "Well. Luke's back. I should go now," He said quietly. "How far do live from here?" I ask. "Um. Well, I don't have a place to stay. Me and Michael are. Well, we aren't a thing anymore. I don't really have a place of my own," He said. "But I don't want to intrude. I'll find somewhere to stay," He points out. "Nonsense. Just because Luke's home doesn't mean you have to go," I said.
Maybe I was bisexual. Because I wanted Ashton. But I didn't want them to know. At least, not Luke. "Where will I stay if I stay here?" He asks. I went back to sit next to him. I gripped his hand an He smiled. "With you?" He asked. "With me."
