"Sweetheart detective Regan is here to see you and doesn't look too happy." Nick's mom called from the front door.
Nick and Mr. Burns exchanged confused looks at each other but then Mr. Burns finally got up and said "ok I'm coming but what's going on?"
"Mr. Burns I need to speak with you alone, I have some questions." detective Regan said in an annoyed sigh.
"Seriously what is going on?" Mrs. Burns chimed in but detective Regan payed no attention to her.
"Detective is this about Nicole?" Mr. Burns asked.
"Yes it is and we have a few questions for you as I already said so I'm taking you back to the station and we are going to talk about a few things." Detective was growing impatient with all of their cockamamie questions.
"Ok well let's go then." Mr. Burns said with an annoyed sigh because it was now almost 8:00 at night but he went along anyway.
--sheriffs station 13 minuets later--
"Ok Mr. Burns you can relax I'm not going to interrogate the hell out of you I just want to tell you a couple things and ask you a couple questions, got it?" Detective Regan told Mr. Burns.
"Ok but if you are not interrogating the hell out of me then why didn't you ask me these questions at my front door?" Mr. Burns asked.
"Well... I don't think your wife would like to hear these questions and I'm guessing Nick probably wouldn't want to hear them either." Mr. Burns stated matter of factly.
"Ok then ask away to your hearts content detective." Mr. Burns said with annoyance lacing through his words.
"Ok the first thing I would like to tell you is when the DNA of Nicole came back it said that you are not her biological father, the biological father is Chris Williams." Detective Regan told Mr. Burns.
"I know" Mr Burns said in a low voice that almost sounded shameful.
"Ok so I would imagine that Mr. Williams knows too than?" Detective Regan asked.
"I'm not sure if he know because I found out the night she was found in the river, so only 2 days ago" Mr. Burns said.
"Ok so you are saying that you only found out 2 days ago and the 17 years before that you thought that you were her actual father?" Detective also questioned.
"Yes" Mr. Burns said as detective scribbled something down on his notepad.
"Ok so Nicole has only been dead for 2 weeks but she was missing for 2 weeks before that, do you have any idea who might have killed her or why she might have been missing?" Detective Regan asked.
"I don't know who would kill her or why she was missing because I didn't even know what she looked like until her body was found, the last time I saw her was when she was a baby and my wife and I gave her up for adoption so I don't know who her enemies would be or anyone who might have something against her." Mr. Burns said.
Detective Regan nodded and said "ok then you are free to go."
"That's it, that's all you wanted?" Mr. Burns asked curiously.
"Yes, unless you have something you want to say or anything but if not you are free to go." Detective Regan said as he walked out of the interrogation room and towards his office.
"Ok then, bye detective." Mr. Burns said as he walked away.
After Mr. Burns left the office detective Regan went to his desk and looked at all of the evidence and crime scene pictures. As he was looking at the picture he noticed that behind the bush there was something black and it looked like it was metal or something.
After a few minutes of looking at it he realized that it was a gun and he went back to the crime scene and got the gun and brought it back to the station to have it fingerprinted, only he did not realize the gun was a fake, or for that matter he did not realize the gun was actually a ticking time bomb ready to go off at any minute.
