The Body in The River

Detective Regan

It was Monday, oh how Nick hated Monday. When Nick's alarm went off it was 6:45am and he tried to turn of his alarm but he could not find the off button. After two minutes of trying to turn off his alarm Nick decided not to bother with it and ripped the cord out of the wall and threw it half way across his bedroom.

When Nick was ready he thought he would go talk to detective Regan because he hadn't heard anything about anyone having any clue were his mom was.

Nick decides to walk down to detective Regan's house and when he knocks on the door it creaks open. Nick walked in detective Regan's house and when he want into the kitten he saw a pool of blood and detective Regan's body lying in it. Nick felt dizzy from the sight and the smell of a 2 day old dead body.

Nick pulled out his phone to call the police station but before he could get his phone out of his bag everything went black, Nick had fainted.

  ———-9:00 am Lightwell High-———

"Yes, um hello Mr. Burns." The school secretary said over the phone.

"Hello and what can I do for you?" Mr. Burns asked.

"Well your son, Nick has not shown up for school today."

"Okay I will call him and see if he answers." Mr. Burns said in a panic because all he could think about was what if his son had been kidnaped or missing just like his wife.

  ———Detective Regan's house———
Nick awoke from fainting to the sound of his phone ringing and saw that it was now 9:04 and his dad was calling him.

Nick answers the phone and said "hello."

"Son where the hell are you the schools just called me saying that you weren't there?!" Nick's dad all but yelled into the phone.

"I'm sorry dad but—" Nick was cut off by his dad.

"There are no buts, you are to go to school, I can't even believe you would try and pull something like this." Nick's dad yelled again.

"Dad it's not what you think let me explain." Nick asked hoping his dad would listen.

"Okay then explain." Nick's dad said inpatient.

"This morning when I left to go to school I wanted to walk down to detective Regan's house to see if he found anything out about mom, and when I knocked on the door it creaked open and I walked in the house. I smelt something rotten in the kitchen so I walked into the kitchen and I found detective Regan lying in the floor in his own pool of blood and then I fainted." Nick explained to his dad.

"Oh my god son, I'm on my way to pick you up."

"Please don't hurt me, please don't, I have a son and a husband just let me go and I won't tell anyone that you took me, I don't even know what you look like because you have the stupid hood on." Nicks mon said crying as she was tied to a chair in the middle of a dark room where the only people were her and this man dressed in all black clothes.

"Oh but here's the thing, you do know me, but you'll never have the chance to tell anyone." The man said as he shot her square in the forehead, poured gasoline on her and lit her on fire. But before she could burn to a crisp he threw her in the lake, where he had thrown Nicole.
