The Notebook

2 weeks later...
Nick was sitting at the kitchen table writing in his notebook and reading what he had so far.

He knew that his sister had a drug problem and that his mom gave her up for adoption. He also knew that in the note the killer left with detective Jones it said that the killer was cleansing Lightwell of all sinners. Nick thought for a minute. The drugs could be his sisters sin and maybe the killer thought that when his mom gave his sister up for adoption, that was her sin.

Nick sat at the table and asked himself 'what did Mrs. Kremp and Detective Regan do? Most importantly what did my dad do?'

Nick's thoughts were interrupted by Natalie walking through the door.

"Hey babe, what's that?" Natalie said as she sat down beside Nick at the table.

"The truth?" Nick asked.

"Yes I want the truth." Ashley told Nick with he eyebrows raised.

"Ok fine I wasn't telling anyone about this but, I'll tel you." Nick said.

"Ok your scaring me so start talking." Natalie said.

"I wrote down all of the killer's victims and why he might wanted to kill them and I also wrote down what we know so far." Nick said feeling good about finally telling someone about his notebook.

"Oh, so are you running your own investigation?" Natalie said with a little chuckle.

"Yes, it's not funny I want to find who killed my mom and dad!" Nick said growing frustrated with Natalie's chuckling.

"I know, I know, calm down." Natalie said as Nick gave her a frustrated look.
"What?" Natalie asked.

"Your laughing at me because you think I'm crazy for doing this." Nick said.

"No I'm laughing because you think you couldn't tell me." Natalie said matter of factually.

"Oh" Nick said looking down at his notebook.

A minute later there was a loud bang coming from outside. Nick got up to see that there was a flower pot knocked over and broken.

"Natalie are you parents going to be mad that there is a broken pot outside when they get home from work in 10 minuets?" Nick asked Natalie who was still sitting at the table.

"No because they aren't going to be home in 10 minuets. Remember?" Natalie said opening the door.

"Huh?" Nick asked confused.

"Remember they are going on a business trip this weekend?" Natalie asked a little annoyed.

"Oh yah now I remember. God I'm dumb." Nick said following Natalie out of the house.

Nick and Natalie cleaned up the broken flower pot and the dirt spilled out of it and then they went back inside a made supper.

Nick and Natalie thought that the wind had just knocked over the flower pot because it was a pretty windy day that day but they were oh so wrong. It was none other that Chris Williams spying on Nick and now he knows about Nick notebook.
