Bandaids Don't Fix Bullet Holes

It was Sunday night, the day after Nick's mom's funeral and he was sitting on his living room couch watching Riverdale with Natalie when his dad came downstairs.

"Hey Nick?" Nick's dad questions as he walks down the staircase.

"Yes?" Nick questioned.

"Are you going to school tomorrow?" Nick's dad said as he sat down in the living room chair.

"Yah. Why wouldn't I be?" Nick said with a little confusion in his voice.

"Well your mom's funeral was yesterday and I just thought that if you weren't handling it well that you could stay home, but your fine." Nick's dad said.

"Okay" Nick said as his dad got up from the chair with a sigh.

"I'm going to bed it's 10:00." Nick's dad said from a quarter way up the stairs.

"Okay." Nick said.

——Monday, 6:30 am, Nick's house——

Nick woke up on the couch and the T.V was still on and something else was strange but could not figure it out, Well that was until Natalie woke up still cuddled against him from watching T.V last night.

"Oh shoot!" Natalie said as she got up and off the couch.

"Relax it's not like we did anything, if you know what I mean." Nick's said with a sigh and I little bit of a smirk.

"I know Nick, but my parents are going to ax me. I didn't get home by 12:00 when I was supposed to be!" Natalie said frantically.

"It's okay, what time do they go to sleep?" Nick asked.

"9:30" Natalie said.

"Okay and what time do they get out of bed in the morning?" Nick asked.

"4:30 to go to work." Natalie said still worried.

"Okay and do they check on you in the morning or at night?" Nick asked again.

"Well no." Natalie said realizing where nick was going with this.

"Right so they probably think that your still in bed." Nick said.

"Okay then, I have to go though Nick, I'll see you at school." Natalie said as she went on her tip toes to kiss Nick because she was a lot shorter than him.

"Bye Nat." Nick said as he walked Natalie to the door.

————8:45 am Lightwell High————

The bell rang to go to first period, English, and he and Natalie had first period together so Nick and Natalie walked together.

As Mr. Farsenter kept babbling on about a dumb book Nick sat in his chair and thought about his mom, his sister, well half sister to be technical, and how they were killed the same way and found in the exact same place. Nick also thought about how detective Regan was stabbed to death.

Nick couldn't help but think that the same person who killed his sister, killed his mom as well, but he also thought what about detective Regan? Nick had a felling deep down that the same person also killed detective Regan.

When the bell rang Nick snapped out of his thoughts and picked up his books and walked with Natalie to the cafeteria.

Nick and Natalie sat with their usual group, Keven, Ashley, Natalie and his self of course.

The four teenage friends talked about normal teenage things and their almost normal lives, but then with a couple screams and a couple gun shot noises things changed in that very moment and one thing Nick knew for sure was that bandaids don't fix bullet holes.

A teacher had been shot, and that teacher was Mrs. Kremp.
