The Body in The River

Missing

After Nick's dad hung up the phone he sighed and asked "take out? I don't feel like cooking."

"Sure but I'm really worried about mom." Nick said as his dad was dialling the Chinese place's take out number.

"Me too son, me too." Nick dad answered very worried about his wife.

After Nick and his father ate they decided to start calling people to see if they have seen Mrs. Burns in the last 8-12 hours.

Most people said on the phone "no but we hope you find her soon" or "the last place was at the gym" but Nick and his dad both knew that she was going to the gym this morning so that was the least bit helpful.

After an hour of calling people Nick and his dad realized it was 8:00 pm and they decided to watch T.V

Time watching T.V flied by and they looked at the clock and saw that it was already 11:00. Nick went up to bed since tomorrow was Wednesday and he was desperate for sleep.

Nick's dad was very worried about his wife and he decided to ease some of that worry by having a beer.

For some people that works but for Nick's dad it does not, he ends up getting too carried away in his emotions and gets really drunk.

Sure enough it was hits later and nick woke up to hearing his dad crying in and angry tone and smashing beer bottles in the sink.

Nick riled over in his bed at looked at his alarm clock and it read 2:52 am and Nick sighed and got out of bed.

Nick went down the stairs and into the kitchen. After he let his dad settle down a bit he told his dad to go to bed and that he did.

As Nick was walking back to his bedroom he thought about how his dad would deal with mom being missing, them he thought about sleep and how he desperately needed some.

Detective Regan's house 48 hours later
"Son is it really you?" Detective Regan asked the man in the black clothing holding the knife.

"Oh yes dad it is me and you are going to pay, pay for leaving me and mom, you are going to pay for leaving me fatherless." The man said.

"Look Oliver I loved you and your mom very much but I could not live in that wretched town of darkness any longer. I tried to get your mom to come with but she said that she was t doing that" Detective Regan said as he approached his son.

"Say that all you want." Oliver said and he ran towards Detective Regan and with the knife in his hand.

Detective Regan tried to process what was happening and then it hit him that his son was going to kill him and with that thought soon Oliver was behind Detective Regan and was holding the knife at his throat.

"Please don't kill me son, I love you"Detective Regan said.

"You don't love me, you never have, so bye bye father." Oliver said and slit his dads throat.

Soon enough Oliver was out of the house and detective Regan was left there lying in his own pool of blood bleeding out and dying, his whole life flashed before his eyes.
