Fire Away

This chapter uses the chores of Titanium by David Guetta ft. SIA.

Mrs. Kremp, the school music teacher was shot square in the forehead, lied on the floor in her own blood dead. Chris Williams yelled out orders as he kept walking around the school cafeteria.

"Get down! Do not move! If you get up I will shoot you." Chris yelled as he looked at all of the students on the floor through the eye holes of his black ski mask.

Nick carefully went up behind Chris thinking that this person was just some deranged psycho who decided to come to this school and start a school shooting, but no, when Nick turned the man around and looked at his face, well really only his eyes, he saw someone, someone he knew, but Nick couldn't figure out who.

"Get your hands off me or I'll shoot you!" the man said and Nick got on the ground knowing that this man would keep his word and when the man began to shout again he knew the voice, he has heard it before, he knows it, but again he can not figure out who's voice it is.

The man in the black ski mask started shouting again and said "if anyone calls the police I will shoot more people but if you let me take Nick Burns I will leave no questions asked."

"Okay, if you leave no questions asked and you keep your word I will come with you." Nick said bravely as he got up iff the ground.

"No!!" Natalie screams as she gets up.

"I will shoot you!! Get down in the ground." Chris yelled.

"No. You are NOT taking MY boyfriend with you!" Natalie yelled at the man.

"Oh yes I am taking him." Chris said very sassily.

Natalie stood beside Nick and spoke again "if you want Nick, you're taking me too."

"No and now that you didn't cooperate I'm going to shoot you." Chris said as he pointed his gun at her and put his finger on the trigger.

"No!!" Nick said as he stepped in front of Natalie with the sound of a gun shot in the room.

Behind Nick and Natalie students and teachers gasped. Nick was still standing there but he soon knew that he was shot below his right rib cage.

Chris had disappeared and soon enough teachers were circled around him and were calling 911.

Transcript of 911 Call
911 operator: "911 how may I help you and what is your address.?"

Teacher: "I would like to report a school shooting at Lightwell high, one teacher dead and a student shot below the right rib cage."

911 operator: "Okay I am sending a police car and an ambulance."

Nick watched the teacher hang up and then he blacked out. When the ambulance got to the school Nick was still blacked out. During this time all of the children went home except for Natalie who stayed by Nick's side refusing to go home even when her mother got to the school to pick her up.

"No mom I am staying with Nick." Natalie said sternly to her mom.

"Okay Nat but I'm calling Nick's dad and I am coming with you to the hospital." Natalie's mom said and Natalie nodded in agreement.

And with that Mrs. Kremp was wrapped in a proper tarp and was taken to the hospital, and so was Nick.

When Nick, Natalie and Natalie's mom arrived at the hospital Nick was rushed to an operation room. Natalie and her mom were forced to sit in the waiting room, just then Nick's dad burst through the ER doors and went towards Nick's room where he was being operated on.

"Sir, you can't go back there." The nurse said trying to stop Nick's dad.

"That is my son and he has been shot I will not loose him and I am going to sit by his side until he wakes up!!!!" Nick's dad all but screams.

"Sir I assure you that your son will be out of operation soon and once he is in a hospital room you can go see him but right now you can't." The nurse said with sympathy lacing through her words as she spoke.

"Okay." Nick's dad said as he sighed and sat down in the waiting room by Natalie and her mom.

"We are so sorry." Natalie's mom said. Natalie did not say anything instead she put her head in her hands and she cried hoping that Nick would pull through this, suddenly Natalie thought about one of her favourite songs.

Natalie heard the song in her head and thought Nick is titanium as he will pull through this.

A few minutes later Keven and Ashley come in the waiting room with their parents and as well as Natalie's. With that Natalie, Ashley, and Keven all sit together worried about Nick. Natalie's parents, Ashley's mom, and Keven's parents all sit across the room talking, big one thing that Natalie finds strange is that Ashley's dad is not here and with what happened to Nick she thought Ashley's dad would have come to the hospital, giving Nick and Ashley have been best friends since they were 4 and Nick was like a son to Chris.
