How I LOVE You Dear
I love you like the rising suN paints the sky,
like the wind benEath the birds that fly,
like the way trees rise to capture the daylight,
like the stars shining for you, so gentle, so bright.
i loVe you like the Ebb and flow of the sea,
like the colors of a Resounding syMphony,
like the yellows and golds
and Every tale told
of hAppiness and joy, and eveN sorrow Too,
the way the sky kisses the horizon’s greyed blue.
i love you like the ending of a sTOry,
the closing of a Book like the end of a mEmory,
like the last line
i’ll ever Call mine,
and i’ll write it dOwn, bury it within your laugh.
i’ll love you like the period upon an epitaph -
i love you in the way i pick up a pen,
in the way i dare to write time and time again.
i love you in the way a bird quietly sings,
in the way the wind holds up hollow wings.
i love you in the way i dare to breathe,
in the silenced time before you leave,
when the MEmory fadeS
and grey becOmes the shades -
i love you in the wAy that Time loves graviTy,
as yin and yang for a bAlanCed eternity -
i love you in the way that fears no time.
i love you in the way i write this rHyme,
Each carefully written letter
could never be placed better
to Describe all i hold in my heart for you -
i love you in the way these words hold true.
i’ll show you i love you by giving you all of myself -
take my hand, my pen, and every poem on my shelf.
