I lost you within a dream
I can see the frost that cruelly lingers
bitting at the corners of your eyes,
I long to reach out and wipe it away
but it seems I've lost that paradise,
We've been here before I seem to recall
the cold bleeding around us,
it's breath beating hard against my neck
no energy to fight, it surrounds us,
Your eyes of the bluest hue
are now tinged with a cold bite,
I'm trapped within a deadly tale
wanting out but not quite,
Oh why did I stay?
what did I wish to achieve?
nothing springs to mind
sorrow seeps from my seams,
Your bitter rage spills like blood,
eyes burning red with loathing
the scream I held stuck in my throat,
but still all I felt toward you was loving
'He wouldn't do it' I told myself,
'No, he wouldn't even dare!'
but a few moments later my mind changed course
his hands around my neck like a bear,
A frenzied few minutes was all that it took
I lay staring up at the stars,
dead to the world, but not to you
a bitter kiss, you hold me in your arms.
