Your Ship Sunk Within My Arms
My heart was an anchor
that kept you atop the sea,
rooted in the wake of chaos
as the tempests surrounded me.
My heart was too heavy,
rusted, and wrought with age,
to keep you afloat for so long
as the wars continued to wage.
Lightening split your sails,
and thunder tore them apart.
Your ship sunk within my arms,
and I knew I had claimed your heart.
The stars fell that very night,
when I claimed you within a wave.
And with salty, tumultuous tears,
I wondered if you could ever be saved.
