My jaw dropped.

"No, I uh came here for the uh," I stumbled, trying to gain back control of my mouth, "For the s'mores."

His right brow lifted with my response and immediately he ran a hand through his ruffled dark hair. I watched his arm extend, being careful not to look too close at his eyes in fear of them changing.

"S'mores...," He chuckled deep, sending me an entertained smirk, "Sounds messy."

I forced a fake laugh with his words, why did he always have to take things there? Every time he spoke it was like I couldn't speak, almost as if he could trap my brain from processing anything correctly.

Before making my counter attack, I took a breath - I had to take a chill pill if I ever wanted to look casual and fun to this guy.

"They are," I began, sliding off my sandals to step into the water, "Especially when they just get all over your face."

As the words came out I already knew the mistake I had made...could I be any more awkward? I felt his presence proceed closer towards me as our conversation fell. Now what? I was mentally appreciating him for not making some nasty sex joke that all boys usually did with my answer and I nervously began to twirl my hair as I awaited his response.

He cleared his throat as he finally stood by my side, giving off nothing but power and electricity as I began to feel the usual pull towards him.

He still hadn't said anything, which could be a good sign or a bad one. He had yet to bring up the study room showdown and he hadn't even mentioned us possibly going there. As if I wasn't questioning his intentions before hand, now I was almost in overdrive.

I let my eyes drift back over towards the sea, feeling the cold nights' breeze blow through each strand of my hair. I wanted to look over towards him too, just to see if he was enjoying this just as much as I was, but I was afraid. I didn't really know what to say and the fact that he was still standing here, made me realize that he must have a motive for seeing me.

"So are you going to bring it up or sha'll I?" He finally announced, his voice hitting tones lower then I could've believed.

I swallowed, already feeling my hormones and nerves rise, "About?"

I tried to play it coy, but I knew I wasn't fooling him. Instead of furthering the conversation he looked over, his eyes roaming on all parts of my body that I kept hidden.

He bit his lower lip quickly, taking in a breath that he made sure was loud, "About why I'm here."

Even through the dark I could see the glint of gray in his eyes through the moonlight. Knowing full well his eyes were green normally, the sight of any other color always made my heart drop.

"Do I need to know why you're here?" I asked, keeping his gaze.

For a moment I thought he was going to bring up the study room incident, but I was still unsure if it had even happened! I told Jess that it had seemed dream-like, almost like I had wanted it to happen so bad that I had made it up in my head.

His eyes faded back in with the blackness and the previous grey I had seen, were now a thing of the past. I could tell his mood was either growing distant or I was prodding into territory he didn't want me in.

I shoved my toes in and out of the sand, feeling relief as the tide began to approach us. The water was so warm tonight, almost like bath water as it began to trickle it's way up my ankles.

"I don't know," He finally answered, "You seem to know a lot more then I thought you did."

And with that, I knew exactly where he was going. Actually, I had several ideas that he might be referencing, but I didn't want to assume anything.
