MING'S POV
After Yo and the pack went upstairs earlier, I made a call then went to my room to get changed and ready for dinner too. Now sitting back in the living room, I watch as the six of them come tromping down the stairs together, exactly on time. It's good that we're going to dinner tonight, I found out we have a few things we need to go over before we start integrating with the humans at school.
Locking up the house and heading outside, we immediately hit what I think is a snag. "How are we all going to get to the restaurant?" I ask, staring at the small SUV Yo's father provided for me to use.
"Pfft, not in that pitiful little thing, that's for sure." Montry says contemptuously. "Our vehicle is in the garage. I'll pull it around." He finishes as he walks off.
Ok, well that solves that problem. "Yo, do you want to ride with me."
In case the death stares I receive from the four-people still standing with Yo weren't enough to answer my question, Yo speaks, "No, sorry. I'll ride with the pack. I promised I'd stay with them whenever possible until we're all settled a bit. Why don't you ride with us too? That'd make it easy."
His statement makes me wonder what kind of car they have which will fit all seven of us, but seconds later my question is answered as Montry pulls around the side of the house in a gigantic shiny black Mercedes SUV. My jaw drops as I look over the vehicle in front of me and my body drifts forward by itself to get a better look.
"Holy Shit. How are we supposed to be inconspicuous living in this house and driving that car?" I mutter to myself, not taking my eyes off the car, then ask just to confirm, "Yo? Is this the GL550?"
"Uhm. I don't know much about cars. It'll fit all of us comfortably and dad said it's really safe. That's all I care about." He answers as doors open and him and the boys start loading up.
"Duh, it's safe." Montry whispers to me, leaning his head out the driver's side window. "It's armored. This isn't a car, it's a freaking luxury tank."
Shaking my head to clear it from the sight of the beautiful beast of a vehicle in front of me, I notice everyone else is loaded up and waiting for me to climb in, "Alright, let's go."
--------------------
So, the phone call I made earlier was to my cousin Forth. I invited him to come to dinner with us. He even picked out a little restaurant that was nearby the house, so we didn't have far to drive. Forth has never had the chance to meet Yo, he's been top-side most of his life. But now I want my best friend and my favorite cousin to get to know each other since we'll all be at the same school together.
When we pull up, the restaurant parking lot is completely empty, but there is a small neon sign lit up in one of the windows that read 'Bub's Grub'. The sign is surrounded by a circle of flames with the tag line of 'Let Us Tempt You'. Ok, that's bizarre.
After stepping through the front doors of the diner, I start feeling like I've been here before. The place projects an almost homey feel and gives me the impression that I'm back at one of my favorite cafés in Hell. The decorations are all red and black themed and the tables and chairs have a modern feel to them.
The only problem is it's a little too quiet in here, almost eerily so. Looking around I see we're the only customers, which is strange since it's dinner time and this place is so close to campus.
"Ming, are you sure we're at the right place? Something doesn't seem right." Yo asks me, sounding a little uncertain. Out of the corner of my eye I watch as the pack sidles a little closer to him.
