CH 19: And So It Begins

FORTH'S POV

"P'Forth, we've been looking all over for you." Chaang tells me. As him, Zee, Jay and Red step closer to us, I watch as their eyes drift from me to Pha.

"What are you doing here, P'Pha?" Jay asks.

Since they're comfortable with me, I jump in to answer, "He's like me. He has to be here to help with the competition because he's last year's Campus Moon."

"P'Pha, you're so handsome, I bet you won by a landslide last year." Zee offers dreamily.

"Hey!" I exclaim indignantly, "Not by a landslide! I kept the competition very close."

"Of course, you did P'Forth." Red tells me as he tries to comfort me with a patronizing pat on the arm.

PHANA'S POV

Forth's words make me want to laugh out loud, but the way those hounds are looking hungrily at me frightens the amusement right out of me. I'm positive I don't want hounds interested in me. That sounds way too dangerous. However, it might be a good idea to start trying to win these guys over and make them my friends. Last Friday at the bar was a good start, but they need to get to know me better, so they're not a hindrance when I start officially chasing their charge.

Turning on the charm, I flash as sexy smile and dive right in, "Hello gentlemen. It's good to see you again. I haven't had the chance to see any of you since the bar on Friday."

"Ooh, he called me a gentleman." Chaang says with a bit of awe in his voice.

"Shows how little he knows." Red mutters, but of course we all hear him.

"Bitch! Shut up! I can be a gentleman!" Chnng yells as he pushes Red.

The twins snicker then the first one speaks, "You're never gentle, you freaking elephant..." Then the second twin continues, "And man can only be loosely applied in your case."

"Assholes, I can whip it out right now and show you who's a man!" He shrieks as he reaches for his pants and starts fumbling with the button and zipper. However, we're interrupted again as Montry comes around the corner. Thank goodness for that timing!

"What is all the ruckus about? You were simply supposed to find Forth and bring him back."

"E'Mon, they're being mean to me!" Chaang yells at Montry as he walks towards him.

"What's new?" Mon asks him in return.

"You know what, forget all of you bitches!" He yells as he snaps his fingers at his pack mates angrily. "I'm going to tell Yo you're picking on me." He then turns with a huff and stomps around the corner towards the practice room.

"E'Chaang, don't be a tattletale and leave him out of this." Mon calls after him shaking his head. After heaving a sigh, he turns back to us and his eyes land on Forth, "We're heading home now. Can you look after Yo?"

"Sure. Does he need a ride home tonight?" Forth asks.

"No, he'll let us know when practice is close to wrapping up, and we'll come pick him and Ming up."

"Ok. Then I'll..."

Forth pauses speaking as the heads of all four boys turn towards the practice room. Next, they look at each other, then away again. Only Mon turns back to face Forth and offer him a hurried wai of goodbye as he speaks, "We have to go. Call us if there are any issues." Afterwards all four of them rush around the corner and out of sight leaving me alone with Forth once again.
