CH 45: Dinner Together

MONTRY'S POV

The university really takes this whole Campus Moon and Star competition thing seriously. The show they put on was really over the top. Too bad it was kind of anti-climactic, since after the talents were performed we all realized Ming was going to be crowned Campus Moon. Don't get me wrong, the other Moon competitors kept it close. Just not close enough.

Now that the glitz and glam associated with the show has concluded, most people, including all the other cute Moon candidates, have cleared out to enjoy the rest of their evenings. Admittedly we're not the only six people here since Beam and Kit are still here too. SO that makes eight of us, standing around in the now otherwise deserted auditorium, waiting.

Why? Because Yo won't leave. Why won't Yo leave? Well he says he's keeping Kit and Beam company while they wait for Ming and Forth, but that's not the whole truth. It's obvious he's waiting for Pha to appear, and since he won't leave without seeing him, and we won't leave without Yo, we're all still waiting together.

Before even coming here tonight, we made dinner plans with these people for after the competition, so we're guaranteed to see them soon. Which is the reason I don't understand why we can't go ahead to the restaurant and get settled and wait for them there. Why do we have to wait for them here in this empty auditorium?

'How much longer?' Red asks.

'Yeah, I'm hungry.' Chaang whines.

'Guys, you saw me try to convince him to leave. It didn't work, so we just have to wait.' I remind them. Heavy sighs are heard all around, and Yo glances over at us frowning before looking back at the stage.

We know there are pictures, interviews and a variety of publicity crap the guys have to complete before they can break free, but it's been 30 minutes already. I'm trying to be patient, but I don't understand the hold up.

Glancing around our group I see the same impatience on the faces of the others too, but all for different reasons. The pack is tired and grumbling again about wanting to eat. Beam looks like a man jonesing for a fix. I'd take odds on how much longer he lasts before storming backstage and dragging Forth out whether he's done or not. Kit is trying to play it cool by not staring at the stage exit where the boys will be coming from, but it's not working. And Yo is chewing on his thumb nail while staring nervously in the same direction as the others.

Finally, after another 15 minutes, the three guys exit stage right and start moving towards us. They're chatting away amongst themselves, but when they see everyone waiting for them, smiles light up their faces. Stopping in a huddle, they talk for a minute, then each head to a different person.

Forth moves towards Beam, who launches himself at his lover. He's caught and held by his ass, as he latches his arms and legs securely around Forth and demands, "What took you so long?"

"Aaaw, Bee, did you miss me? We got out as fast as we could." Forth explains as he tries to set Beam back on the ground. Too bad for him Beam's having none of it as he clings on tightly like a koala.

"No, you have to carry me as punishment." He demands.

Forth chuckles, then explains, "We're going out in public. Are you sure?"

"What? Are you ashamed of having me as your lover?"

Forth bumps their foreheads together gently while wearing a frown, "Of course not. Don't be stupid again."

"Fine, then prove it. Carry me." Beam commands.

"Fine, I will. Besides, maybe this will make some of your old flames finally get the hint." He mutters but of course we all hear him.
