WAYO'S POV
Shit! Ming is definitely going to be mad when he finds out I left the house. Maybe I could... no I better tell him so at least one person knows just in case. But how do I break it to him without him freaking out? Oh well, screw it. I'll figure it out on the fly.
'Ming. Hello?'
'Hey, what do you need?'
'First, are you with the pack? Can you talk without them knowing?' I ask, testing the waters. Ming's awful calm though so they must not know I'm gone yet.
'We all thought you went to bed after you talked to Pha, so the pack called it a night too. I was going over some homework for tomorrow then I was calling it a night. Are you ok? What did Pha say? Hey where are you? I came up to talk to you, but you're not here! Ai'Yo! What did you do?'
Crap! I didn't know he'd go looking for me. I probably should have realized it, but oh well. It's too late now. I was trying to figure out how to break the ice about leaving anyway, so I guess that part is at least done. 'Uhm... Don't get worked up, ok. I just needed to see Pha after he called. So, I...'
'Stop! You left the house? How did you get to... You know what, don't tell me. I don't want to know. It's better that way because I can claim innocence when the pack finds out and decides to kill you!'
'Don't be a drama queen. You know they can't kill me.' I reply rolling my eyes.
'No, but they can kill me and Pha! Did you think of that? So, come home before they find out!' He commands.
'They wouldn't do that. I wouldn't let them. And I will come home..." Crap, he is really going to hate this. Cringing a little in preparation, I spit it out quickly as I wait for the yelling to start. "...in the morning. I'll be there before they wake up for school, so they won't find out.'
Right on cue, he shouts through our link, 'What?! No! Come home now!'
'Ming... please. Please. Please. Please. I need time with him after what happened this weekend.' I shamelessly beg.
'No! Come home! Don't make me wake the pack.' He threatens.
Ok, it's time to pull out the big guns. Since the begging and pleading aren't working I leave them behind and shift strategies. 'Ming, I have pictures... lots of pictures of a certain two-tailed kitty cat doing super cute and adorable things. Pictures I might be willing to part with... IF it bought your silence.'
A few seconds of quiet meets my offer, before he orders, 'Prove it.'
Searching my gallery on my phone, I send one single piece of evidence. 'Check your phone.'
'Yo, why is my Kitty in your bed?' Ming quietly and calmly asks, although I swear it sounds strangely like he's spitting his words out through gritted teeth. Is that even possible in a mind link?
Ignoring his question, I explain, 'I have dozens more of those and some where he's outside too.'
'ARGH! Fine! But you know this is blackmail, you brat! I expect copies of all the pictures you have by tomorrow afternoon AND you better be back before the hounds wake up because I'm not risking my life to cover for you.'
'I will. I promise! Thank you! You're the bestest friend ever! I love you!'
'No, you don't, liar. You wouldn't leave me here by myself to face your hounds if you did.' He grumbles.
