PHANA'S POV
Yo seems a little confused by me wrapping my arm around his shoulders but he lets it go and handles the introductions for us. "P'Pha this is Nate. She's a first-year at the Science Faculty with me and she's also our Star this year. Ai'Nate this is my friend Pha."
"Hello, P'Pha." Nate says shyly.
"Hello, it's nice to meet you. Can you please excuse us while I steal Yo away for a few minutes?" Releasing his shoulder, I reach down, snag his hand and drag him down the breezeway far away from her.
When we reach a spot a bit away from the practice room, I pull him to a stop and turn him to face me. As he stares up at me expectantly, I realize I have nothing to say. My goal was just to get him further away from that girl, which I did, but now I'm starting to feel like an idiot as I stare at him blankly.
"Was there something you wanted to talk to me about, P'Pha?"
Crap! Now what do I say. "Uhm... well..." Think Phana! Oh, I got it! "N'Yo, you never gave me your phone number, so I wanted to see if I could get it now."
"You dragged me over here for that? P'Pha you could have just asked me over there for it." He scolds.
"Well, what if someone else overheard it and took down your number? I didn't want to take any risks." I tell him as I pull a reasonable sounding explanation out of thin air.
Thinking over what I said, he agrees reluctantly, "Ok, I guess you could be right. Give me your phone and I'll just put it in for you. That's safest."
When he hands my phone back I look at the contact entry which only has his phone number listed. I quickly fill in the name I want to use for him, save the entry, then shove the phone back in my pocket. Having nothing else to delay our return, we start making our way back. But before I can say anything else to him, I hear someone calling my name.
"N'Pha, I'm glad you're still here. Would you do me a favor?" Ging asks as he walks up. Yo excuses himself and ambles into the practice room heading towards Ming and Forth.
"You want a favor after that introduction, P'Ging? Forth and I were completely swarmed by your kids." I complain.
"Oh, come on. It's all in good fun. Right?" Pulling at my arm and acting sweet to cajole me he says, "Please. The kids need to eat. You just need to swing by the restaurant behind the school to pick up the meal boxes. I already called in the order, and they'll be ready in about an hour or so. I even have the money right here."
"Alright, fine." I tell him after heaving a long-suffering sigh.
"Great! You should probably take someone with you to help with the boxes and drinks though. Do you want me to send one of the kids with you?" He asks.
What a brilliant idea! I can't help the smile of satisfaction that crosses my face as I reply, "No P'Ging, I have someone who can help me, so no one has to miss practice."
"Great, that works better. Thanks, N'Pha." He tells me then strides away while beginning to call everyone back to practice.
Standing outside I wait for Forth and Yo to exit the room then stop Yo with a hand on his arm. "Ging asked me to run an errand for him. I need to pick up dinner for everyone from a nearby restaurant. Figured I'd eat there while I was waiting." I hesitate for only a fraction of a second before saying offhandedly, "You'll probably be bored if you stay here without me, so why don't you come with me?"
Snorting, he replies, "Wow, conceited much? I hope that isn't your way of asking for help."
"Help? I don't need help." I tell him confidently. "I'm doing this for your sake Nong."
