Chapter 1 - A New Beginning
No one's P.O.V
When Clary was little, she was left alone with her mom, Jocelyn. Her dad, Valentine had left them. Her mom would always change the subject when Clary brought it up. Jocelyn moved her and Clary to Idris for a while. Her mom worked for the clave.
Clary felt lonely and found a friend while she was drawing on a street bench. His name was Simon, he was Clary's best friend and she thought of him as a brother. Clary is 17 years old and Simon is 17.
They went to the same schools and places until they both moved to New York. Their lives changed in so many ways.
--------2 Years Later-------
Clary's P.O.V
It was 7 a.m and my eyes would barely open. My red hair was a mess and I felt tired.
I got up and took a shower. It felt great to clean up. I got out the shower and put on some clothes. I put on some black jeans and a blue T-shirt with some boots. I left my hair down in its natural flow.
I went to my drawer and my phone started ringing. The caller I.D was SIMON. I picked it up and answered.
"Hello" I said while walking out the room.
"Hey, you ready? I'm at your door." said Simon.
Oh, I forgot that today was the first day of school at the Institute.
Simon disrupted my train of thought,"On my way." I answered.
I said goodbye to my mom and her new boyfriend, Luke. I met Simon outside and took a shortcut through the park.
" So how was half of your summer that I wasn't part of?" Simon asked. He was always with me, we went to the park and ate ice cream together, we would watch tv together, but sometimes I felt like being alone.
"Um....It was good, some drawing and reading. What about you?" I answered.
"It was good." said Simon while putting his hands in his sweater. It was winter and everyday it would be even worse.
We were laughing and didn't realize we got to the Institute.
"You ready?" said Simon.
I sigh"I guess so." ,but in my head I don't think I'll make it through the year.
