chapter 12- An Ordinary Day

Clary's P.O.V

This is the greatest day of my life. I'm not dead, Augustus is gone, and Jace loves me. It couldn't get better.

Jace is grinning like a child. "You make me happy." said Jace. "So do you" I say.

"Great news guys! Me and Simon are together!" said Izzy, their fingers entwined together. "That's great!" I said yelling.

"Who gave you permission to date Izzy, Simon?!" said Jace. "Come on, Jace. Their happy together, you wouldn't want to ruin their happiness, would you?" I finished squinting my eyes.

Jace hesitates, "Fine but you better not mess this up" Izzy hugged Simon then pulled me with her up the stairs.

"See you guys later" I said and Jace winks.

Me and Izzy go into her room and talk about random things. Then she brought up Jace. "So what's with you and Jace?"

"Nothing much" I lied. "You're lying. I know you two are going out." At that I blush. "Wanna have a sleepover Clary? My parents won't mind." asked Izzy.

Oh Dear God, my PARENTS! "Izzy did you tell my parents?!" I asked. "No"

"They must be out of their minds! They might be worried sick! Izzy did you get my motorcycle by any chance?" I asked walking downstairs.

"Yeah Simon used it. It's out front." said Izzy. I run towards my bike and rush towards my house. I drop the motorcycle and open the door. Mom and Luke are at the table.

"Mom I'm here! I'm safe!" I yelled. Mom comes up to me and hugs me. She kissed me.

"Where the hell have you been Clary!" yelled Luke.

"It's a really long story. Sit down" I tell them and they sit on the couch.

After a few minutes of explaining, I let them take it in. (A/N I didn't wanna bore you guys. You already know what happened) Then mom speaks up. "But how did Augustus find you?"

"I don't know but I think he's dead." I said. They both have sad faces but then cheer up because I'm here. Then someone knocked on the door.

"I'll get it." I said and Jace was on the other side of the door with Izzy.

"Sorry Clary, he wanted to know where you were." said Izzy. "It's fine Isabelle. Jace, next time text me first. Please." I said and Jace looked down.

"Sorry".he said. "It's fine, now that you guys are here, meet my mom and Luke."

They came inside and I introduced Izzy first. I waited to tell them about Jace. "Mom this is Jace." Mom was gonna answer but Luke intervened.

"Hello Jace, I'm Luke, Clary's stepdad. If you hurt her, I'll kill you" said Luke. Jace took a step back and I stood in front of him. "Luke please be nice. He's the one who saved my life." I look at Jace and we smile.

"Thank you Isabelle and Jace for being there for my Clary. I'm glad she made friends, Simon was her only friend." said my mom. I scratch my head in embarrassment.

"It's ok Ms.Fairchild, I will protect her with my life." said Jace grabbing my hand.

"Mom is it ok if I stay at their house tonight?" I ask. "Sure Clary but you need to go to school again." said mom. I go into my room and pack a bag of clothes. I walk out saying bye. I take my motorcycle and Jace tries to peck my lips but move my head for the cheek.

"Oh no you don't, your driving your car with Izzy." I said.

"Fine but I will get you back for that."

The Next Day

I wake up in Jace's room. "Jaccceee" I said. He walks out of the shower. He looks even cuter wet.

"Enjoying what you see, it's free" said Jace. I roll my eyes.

"Why am I in your room?" I ask. "Cuz I brought you here at night while you were sleeping." he said.

"Perv" he laughs."I'm the perv, who's the one checking me out."

"Fair point, so ready for school today?" I ask. "Speaking about school, im not taking chances, we got apartments in the institute. You & Izzy, me & Alec, and Simon & Magnus."

I yell in excitement. "That's great news. I'll wash up then pass by my house." He nods and I go shower.

After washing up I get dressed, but my clothes are in Izzy's room. I guess I have to go out there. I walk out and Jace is dressed.

"If your taunting me, it's working." he smirks and leans in for a kiss.

"Calm down lover boy. I need clothes not a kiss." I said and Jace pouts.

"You drive me crazy, you know that right." he said .

"I sure do" and I walk back into the bathroom swaying back and forth knowing Jace is going crazy. I change and head out.

I make it to school and get to my dorm, Izzy was already here because there was lots of pink and colorful curtains. "Hey Iz, where are you"

"in the bathroom, you can never look too good for school." I laugh. I sort out my stuff and grab my bag. Me and Iz walk in and people stare at us.

"Word spreads quickly here." said Izzy.

I go to my locker and this jock comes up to me. "Hey, what's your name?" he asks.

"None of your business leave me alone." I said back. I walk away abd I  the halls guys are looking at me. I feel violated after what happened with Augustus, I am more scared than ever. Guys whistle at me and I glare at them.

"Hey leave her alone!" someone yelled. IT was Jace. He hugs he protectively. Then kisses my head.

"Everything will be fine, I'm here." he said then kissed me.

The day went through painfully and boring but tonight Izzy has a surprise so I'm excited.
