25. Three Months

After setting a camp, we do various Field movement exersises, The ghost walk, high profile, low noise and low speed. The monkey run, high noise, high speed and low profile, and finally, the leopard crawl, Low speed, Low sound and Low profile. A low profile is used to not be seen in more open areas. Low sound is used to avoid being heard by people. And Speed is used if you've been spotted. In a tactical situation, you get in and out, a stealth operation can take days to plan.

Over one and a half months, we honed our skills until we reached a high standard. Within the course, we learned how to diffuse bombs, shoot, basic flying, field movements, yell, use a radio, calculate shots, cam and concealment, command and control, dig holes, get the bearings, read a map and we gained our own knowledge.

Half way through the course, Warrant Officer Lanchester touced down in an Army helicopter. "Hey Flight Sergeant, We would like to pick up the people who reserved for being in the air" the Warrant Officer steps out. "Aberdere, Despot, Doe, Hermann, Longetta, Vince and Zealand, On me", "Yes, Sir" we shout, and step out and get in the chopper. We take off and soon we are heading North East. 

"Alright, your first mission is to jump out with a parachute and land just outside the Gym" The WOFF shouts pointing at a huge building. We jump out and pulled the parachutes at the same calling, we gently land outside the Gym.

"Alright," says a Sergeant "I am Sergeant Herald, I was told about your skills and they match pretty well, you are going to war soon, and we split you into your planes, pilots, you are Aberdere, Doe and Vince. Aberdere, you are a skilled Large aircraft pilot, Globemaster III. Doe, you have trained in planes, the Growler is for you. and Vince, you have been accustomed to the fighter lifestyle, You get the SuperHornet. Now before you get to fly these billion dollar planes, you have to do training, theory training." Follow the signs until you reach the designated course. Doe, This way, I am your teacher. Co-pilots, follow the signs, there will be a course.

"Ok, you people Think you can fly, well you can't" the Flight sergeant says as I enter a room with 12 other people, "and that's why we made these" he says, pointing to a plane. I sat down and then the Flight sergeant continues "and just to think, in a month, you will be in the air with a multibillion dollar project, well, lets do the history. The Ea-18 G is an electronic warfare aircraft developed by boeing..."

We were getting our suits fitted for tomorrow, we go to war in 4 weeks. "Charlie 6, this is Alpha 2 prepared for takeoff"

"Alpha 2, this is Charlie 6, you are clear for takeoff", I release the airbrake, and get stuck to my seat, 80 kilometers, 120, 180. I pull gently on the stick and the plane sticks up, 200 feet, 300. I was really going now.
