19. Year 10 Formal

"What is your favourite song?" Vexera asked

"Go Johnny Go" I said after thinking for a bit

"hey Carl, do you mind if I ask you something crazy?"

"Crazy? Sure, just take a look at me and that's what you will find" I said " sure, Shoot."

"umm... will you go with me to the... Year 10 formal" she said, blushing hard.

"I would have to say..." I said, Vex held her breath "yes, I would love to"

She exhaled and then her ears pricked up, "wait, you said yes?" she asked, I nodded and she said "I need to prepare, goodbye" she left. The formal was tomorrow, and it the only time that almost everyone wears their best, and the people who don't, they look like the wierd one, but I never comment on that.

"Formal starts at six" Alpyne reminded, I got the suit that Vexera gave to me on our first date. I got out of the house and went to my bike, I rode to the Darwin Services club. on the highway, I was hit by a car that stopped in the middle of the road, I heard a sound of cracking as I flew over the car, I then did something that I saw in a video, I put my shoulder down and tucked my tail in, I hit the ground and I instantly knew I broke my shoulder, and rolled so I was on my feet. My arm was in so much pain, that I didn't see the man run up and call 000. After he called, I was on the curb, and the man said "That was pretty cool, where did you learn that?" he took his sunnies off. "Derek?" I asked, taking off my helmet. "Carl! oh, I am so sorry, my brakes wouldn't work, so I got the handbrake and yanked it", "don't worry about it Derek, But I think I broke my shoulder on the way down" I said. "you're like a cat, you landed on your feet." he said

"Actually, I more landed on my shoulder"

"Still looked pretty cool" he said. The ambulance arrived, I realised forgot to call Vex, I reached into my pocket with my good hand and realised it wasn't there anymore. Damn, it must have fallen out when I hit the ground. I got to the hospital and asked whether I could use the phone, The turtle said "no dear, maybe after you get your cast on". That would take forever, No I can't, Vex is probably waiting for me. I asked everyone and they said no, then an old raccoon said "hey, you, you can use mine." she was the office lady from when I asked for where Mr Yorks office is, "Thank you. May I ask why you are here?" she looked down and said "my left lung collapsed yesterday, and they can't find any way to help me, I have until tomorrow" I typed in the number slowly and left a voicemail saying that I was involved in a crash, and that I broke my arm. "thank you" I said to the old raccoon. I got the x-ray and my arm was put back into place, I stayed at the hospital over night.
