It was during AAA when Taeyong finally saw her after so long. She still looks the same, so beautiful and elegant. She still has that same gaze; the gaze that is able to captivate anyone's attention. Whenever she walks, she emits this charisma and aura around her and you can't help but stare at her every move. Who is she? The person Taeyong has always be in love with, Jennie. Jennie Kim.
To the public it seems like both Jennie and Taeyong are merely idols in the same industry who have not even met or talked. But little did they know they were friends. Probably closer than just friends. Taeyong met Jennie through a mutual friend of theirs way before they debuted. Since then they kept in touch and grew closer. But ever since both of them debuted, they didn't talked as much as both are busy with schedules.
Taeyong didn't realised how much he missed her face and her voice until that day. Blackpink was up to perform first followed by NCT. Taeyong was standing near the backstage when Jennie was performing. He frowned when he realised Jennie's mic was not working and couldn't help but worry for her. Soon after, Blackpink finished their performance and he could see Jennie walking towards the backstage. Taeyong wanted to smile at her but he sighed when he saw how Jennie looked down instead. He knew she was upset and frustrated because of the mic mishap just now. He wanted to go after Jennie right at that moment but his manager already told him to standby on stage.
After their performance, Taeyong was walking towards their changing room when he heard a familiar sob coming from one of the empty rooms. After informing his members and manager that he's going to the washroom, Taeyong headed straight to the room where he heard the sob. He carefully opened the door and saw Jennie's back facing him while sobbing weakly.
"Jen..." Taeyong called out. Jennie turned around looking startled but quickly frowned when she saw it was Taeyong.
"Wh..what are you doing here, Taeyong? And how do you know it was me in here?" Jennie stuttered. Taeyong didn't reply but instead he went over to hug her and buried her face in his chest.
"I saw how upset you were when you walked off the stage just now. I know how you feel Jen, don't be too upset. Things happen." Taeyong consoled her.
"I know but I can't help it. It was our first live performance in front of the fans and other idols but we screwed up. I screwed up." Jennie sobbed.
"Hey, hey its okay. Just take this as an experience. Like i said things happen and some times, we just gotta to accept that it happened and move on. This is one of the many performances and next time you will be able to show to others that you are better than today." Taeyong rubbed her back gently.
Jennie looked up at Taeyong with her cute eyes that resembled a cat and at that moment Taeyong knew how deep he felt for her. "How do you know I was upset? I'm pretty sure I tried hard not to let it show," Jennie curiously asked.
While still gazing into Jennie's cat-like eyes, Taeyong said, "Jen, I know everything about you. I know that when you're happy or excited, your eyes would lit up and sparkle and your gummy smile would be exposed. I know that when you're hungry, you would sulk and show your cute pout. And i also know that when you're upset you would look down and just drag your feet. I know you so well, maybe even better than you know yourself."
"Yah Taeyong, why are you being so sweet today?"
"I'm always sweet Jennie, especially if its you." Taeyong smirked at her. Jennie can't help but blushed upon hearing that.
"Yah, let me go. I probably look like a mess right now with my smudged eyeliner and my hair all over the place."
"You still look beautiful to me though. No matter what you say, you will always look beautiful." Taeyong continued while still hugging her tightly.
"And don't ever blame yourself ever again for something that is beyond your control. I won't allow that," Taeyong continued.
Jennie couldn't help but to smile to herself after hearing those sweet words coming from Taeyong, the person she have always had feelings for.
