★Joslynn's POV★
Thankfully, the first half of the day wasn't so bad. The lunch bell rang...not like I was gonna have lunch. I rarely eat lunch, if I can eat three meals a day, that'll be a blessing. My mom and dad keep all their money, they've never given me any. When it comes to food or anything for that matter, I either eat the leftovers they don't want or drink water. When it comes to health or my period...I take from the girls' washroom in school. It's a wrong thing, but I have to survive. Since I won't be eating lunch, I headed to the library. I'm well known in the library, the librarian, Mrs. Jones, always expects me every lunchtime. She's a slim, dark skin lady, in her late forties, she has brown hair with a few grey hairs, she wears glasses, but she's lively as ever. I entered the library and waved to her, she signaled to me to come over. I went to her desk.
"Hey sweetheart!" She greeted excitedly, but quietly. "You better be careful in school from tomorrow." She warned, I gave her a confused look.
"You remember Ace Holter, right?" She asked, I nodded.
Ace Holter was the school's bad boy, he's very dangerous, he's been to jail at least two times, and he beat up the most biggest guy in the football team. After that, the principal expelled him for a month, but he's only been gone for a week. All the girls in the school are afraid yet attracted to him, he rarely dates girls, but when he does, it's for a short time. He's also one of those rich kids, his dad owns a huge company, which he'll inherit one day.
"He's coming back tomorrow." She told me. I was both shocked and confused, she noticed that. "Apparently, the guy he beat up didn't want to testify against him. So he's in the clear." I frowned.
"Yeah, I know it's horrible. Now that's he coming back, I'm scared for you sweetheart. If he's anything like that Bianca girl- why don't you tell your parents?" I became startled, and started shaking my head, telling her no.
"Baby, if you don't that girl is gonna keep terrorizing you!" She warned. I smiled, reassuring her that I was fine.
"Fine, but the minute I meet your parents, I'm telling." She pointed her finger.
I doubted that, my parents won't ever come into my school. They don't care if I get bullied or if I'm in trouble. I'm just a burden to them, a mute burden.

The bell rang, telling the whole school to get out. I, on the other hand, had to remain back and either write an essay, stare at a blackboard for an hour or help the teacher with paperwork. I went into the detention hall, where it was deserted, I was the only one there. I took a seat in the front desk and took out my history book, since I knew I wasn't gonna write that essay when I arrived home. I began to read the chapter when Mr. Jeffrey, the school's coach, entered the room. He was weary, and looked like he was a little tipsy, but I didn't judge. I actually wanted a drink myself.
"Oh, you're here." He said, he wasn't surprised to see me. I was a regular, for not doing homework. He took a seat at the teacher's table.
"How's life?" He asked, I made a face and tilted my head to the side. It gestured I was alright. "Well, do your thing, I do mine." I smiled and he lowered his head to watch his phone.
I took out a paper and my pen and began scribbling away on the paper.

The hour was up, and I was the first to leave. Mr. Jeffrey stayed behind and I waved goodbye when leaving. It was about 4:30 pm, when I arrived home. My dad's car wasn't in the driveway, but my mom was definitely home. I frowned and walked towards my home. I entered the house and was confused, it was silent, a strange silence. I was scared for a minute, but when I saw my mom on the couch asleep, I let out a breath of relief. She mumbled something in her sleep.
"You little sl*t! Sleeping with my man and you think you can get away, you're not my daughter, just a little piece of SH*T!!" She yelled and argued in her sleep. I frowned, she was dreaming of murdering me, how great! My own mother wants to kill me!
I went into the kitchen and then to the basement, that's where my room was. I lived in the dark, dirty basement. There was only one light down there which shone dimly, there was a window that I could easily fit through, and there was a small, broken down bed with a small table. I called that home. On the bright side, I had my own bathroom.
"WHERE IS SHE?!?!" My father yelled, his voice echoed throughout the house, and I felt chills run throughout my body.
I'm not gonna sleep in peace tonight.
