★Joslynn's POV★

I walked behind Alisa, following her steps. I got strange looks from passing students who weren't use to seeing me at lunch, I paid no attention and continued to follow Alisa. We stopped at the door of the cafeteria, she held my hand supporting me.

"Don't worry, it'll be fine!" She assured and opened the door.

As I entered, heads snapped towards my direction and the usual noisy cafeteria was now strangely silent.

"Okay people close your mouths! She's not a ghost!" Alisa snapped at them.

They quickly turned their heads away and the cafeteria slowly became its usual noisy self. Alisa ushered me to an empty seat and put me to sit while she went for our lunches.

She's such a good friend!

"Oh my god! The mute is in the cafeteria?!" Bianca's best friend, Sara Beech, sarcastically gasped.

A few students sitting nearby laughed. I lowered my head in shame.

"So what's a pathetic loser like you doing here?" She asked.

"Talking to a low life b*tch like yourself!" Alisa answered from behind. Alisa gritted her teeth in anger. She held two trays of food, and placed them down. She approached Sara.

"Alisa, you can't seriously be friends with this creature?" Sara eyed me like I was trash.

"You're right!" Alisa made a face like she agreed with Sara. I frowned. "I should be friends with a gold digger like you." The sass in her voice made me smile.

"Alright Alisa!" She looked pissed. "I tried to be nice but suit yourself."

Alisa looked at Sara as if she were  a joke, but then Sara threw a slice of cake at her. The cake landed on her shirt, and Alisa's eyes darkened in anger. Everything happened so fast, the next thing I knew Alisa was pinning Sara to the floor, shoving a bowl of spaghetti in her face. The cafeteria got excited and started chanting.

"Food fight! FOOD FIGHT!! FOOD FIGHT!!!" They got louder and louder, which caught the attention of a passing teacher, Mrs. Greene. When she entered, I tried to break up the fight, but she gasped a horrible gasp which made the entire cafeteria silent.

"Who's responsible for this mess?!" She yelled. Alisa and Sara stood. "Is Miss Joslynn in this too?"

Sara smiled mischievously.

"Miss Greene, she was horrible! She started this whole mess, I tried to stop her!" Sara cried, her fakeness was radiating throughout the room.

"WHAT?!" Alisa roared. "Joslynn didn't do anything!"

"Miss Alisa, I appreciate your kindness but no need to defend a delinquent. You two can go get yourselves cleaned up. Joslynn, clean this entire mess. The rest of you get out!"

"But Miss Greene, that's unfair! Joslynn didn't do anything!" Alisa argued, but Mrs. Greene had already left. Sara smiled at her accomplishment and left. Everyone else slowly got up and left until it was just me and Alisa.

"Give me ten minutes, I'll be back to help you." Alisa told me and sped away.

I was left alone. I didn't want to be a burden to Alisa, so I decided to clean the cafeteria myself.

I fetched the mop, broom and a cloth. I started wiping away the food scraps on the food, I then swept up the food and mopped the floor until it shined. I disinfected the tabletops and threw the scraps away. I finished in twenty-five minutes and I was packing away the cleaning supplies when Alisa came in.

"Sorry I took so long I- hey! I told you to wait for me!" She pouted. I shrugged telling her not to worry.

"You're very stubborn! And fast! Wow! You clean good!" She said in amazement  at my cleaning skills. I chuckled. She gasped.

OMG! I chuckled! For the first time in seven years I made a sound. Alisa was also shocked.

"That surprised me!" Alisa said, startled. She took out a miniature white board and a marker. "Now whenever you want to tell me something, just write."

I scribbled on the board.

'Thank you!'

"Your welcome!" She smiled. Someone cleared their throat.

"So you made a friend." Ace said as he entered the cafeteria. "You just had to jump the girl." He shook his head but looked pleased.

"Aren't you happy I'm defending myself?" Her voice went high and she spoke like a little girl.

"Happy?" He thought. "That's one word to describe my mood." He smiled.

That was the first time I saw him genuinely smiled.

"How's your head?" He asked. I gave me a thumbs up. "By the way, how did you injure your head?" I wrote.

'NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! But thanks though! =)'

He was amused.

"Okay then, see you home sis." He said and calmly left.

"Brothers!" Alisa groaned. "Don't you just hate them?"
