✡️Joslynn's POV✡️
"What is she doing here?" Ace asked. We all bumped into each other as we entered the door, Ace was going out, we were coming in. Alisa exhaled, and rolled her eyes.
"I texted you." She said as he took out his phone. "But you wouldn't know since you're always out either partying, doing something illegal or with a girl."
"Relax." He told her, clenching his fists at his sides. "Sorry, alright? I was caught up in some business."
"What business?" She folded her arms across her chest. He placed his hands on her shoulders.
"It's not illegal, I promise." He lowered his head to hers, and gave her a reassuring smile.
"I wouldn't believe him." I commented and turned my head away.
"Can you- wait! Did you just talk?" He asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, she did." Alisa threw his hands off her shoulders. "You would know that if you read the text." He sighed and read his phone.
"Your mom was murdered?" He asked, his face frowning with concern. "That must be hard. I'd love to stay and cry, but I have to be somewhere."
He shoved his phone into his pocket, gave Alisa a slight hug and left.
"He's cold." I laughed and walked into the living room.
"So are you." I frowned at her. "Your mom just died and you haven't shed a tear. That's mean!" She went into the kitchen to fetch some snacks. I inhaled.
"I'm just strong, it takes a lot more to get me to cry." I lied, she scoffed and landed next to me on the sofa. "Your house is huge. Your living room is bigger than my garage." She laughed.
"I agree, there are perks to being rich and in a well known family, but there's also the expectations." Her smiled faded a bit. "You have to be perfect; everyone looks up to you, you have to be great in everything, and you have to face the music when your image is ruined. That's my life."
I guess we both have some things in life that are hard.
"How about Ace? He seems to be having the time of his life. Why can't you?" She chuckled, almost as if what I said was a crime.
"Ace is different 'cause he already carries around a bad name. That's why I have this burden of carrying our family name. I guess I restricted myself but it's for a good reason." She let out a soft chuckle. "This may kinda sound crazy to you but it's what I have to do to prevent my parent's reputation from being ruined."
I felt her pain, it was an act of injustice. I comforted her, I placed my hands on her shoulder and pulled her into a hug. The world is filled of injustice and evil, and there's nothing we can do about it. I took a deep breath and pulled away.
"Let's not get carried away with our emotions, it's time to have fun!" I encouraged her with a smile, which she returned with an even bigger smile.
"You're right."
Alisa turned on the TV and we scrolled through Netflix. There were tons of shows, some I never even heard about. It took us about five minutes to finally decided on a show to watch, we decided to watch 'Rampage'. Alisa popped us a bowl of popcorn, got some chocolates, a bag of chips and some drinks and we sprawled our bodies on the sofa watching the movie.
"Where am I gonna sleep?" I asked her, a few minutes into the movie.
"We have a guest room, I'll reserve that room as yours from now on." She smiled. "Now, be quiet and let's watch the movie." She hushed me and I shook my head.
