A week after Mother's Day and Mam and I have been extremely busy. It's now Sunday and we have X Factor auditions in Blackpool. We left super early yesterday for the auditions in the Isle of Man and stayed in a hotel after our flight last night. Now we're about to head off to the venue and see some more auditions.
Ring Ring
My phone buzzed from across the hotel room, forcing me to rush and grab it. I saw that it was my boyfriend calling and immediately answered.
"Hey, I'll switch you to FaceTime," I said and pressed the button to switch over. After a second or two, I saw Nolan's adorable face on my screen.
"Hiya!" He waved and I waved back as I set him up against the vanity mirror.
"What ya' doing?" He asked and I told him all about how I'm getting ready for Blackpool.
"I can't believe you're going to go with your Mam to all those X Factor audition dates." He said as I started to curl my hair.
"It's fun but it's a lot. I've gone with her every year she's done it." I explained to him.
"Where are all the places?" He asked, referring to all the spots we'll be stopping at this year.
"Isle Of Man, Blackpool, Cardiff, Essex, Liverpool, Glasgow, Brighton, Newcastle, Benidorm, Tenerife, Edinburgh, Dublin and so much more." I went on, remembering as many as possible.
"That's so much, how does she do it?" He asked and I giggled.
"I don't know but at least she has a job. I just sit behind the scenes and wait for her to have breaks." I said and winced as I accidentally burned myself on the curler.
"What do you even do?" He asked as I continued.
"Well, sometimes I help the people with the technology. I even get to press the play button on the music tracks sometimes." I said with a hint of pride in my voice.
"Oh, I love a girl who works hard." He saucily said and wiggled his eyebrows.
"I hate you," I said and was going to say something else until I heard Mam.
"Mel!" Mam called me from the bathroom, making me tell Nolan one second. I got up from my seat and went to the bathroom to see what was wrong.
"Yeah?" I asked and she looked relieved when she saw me.
"Oh good, you're dressed." She said and looked me up and down "You look cute." She complimented my outfit and forced me to do a twirl. I let her see my two-piece suit that's black with thin, vertical stripes.
